XM8 or Tar or G36K for GM?

Which one of those are the best? I would get the M12s but until they fix its ammo compasity I won't be getting it, as of now I am using a M16+ DEagle in GM, but I am looking for a gun that does well at all ranges, has a good rof/accuracy is not very loud, moderate damage ok recoil and doesnt weigh a ton, also a predictable spray would be good as well, I would like it to be one of the uncommon guns in GM as in no m4a1 or scar lite or anything like that, something that I have to learn to use correctly.

  • XM8 if you want to deal full damage through boxes
TAR for all around + long range
    G36K for fire rate

Thanks! Which one would you personally go with I only play GM/mutation.
  • I love the tar for its scope and fire rate, the cool-down is very good too!
  • ok so I will work on ranking up to get it, I am a Sarge first class atm, so its going to be a while, hope they don't nerf it by time im ranked for it lol....

    xm8 ftw

  • I'd say XM8...But, then, I'm biased and just happen to love my XM8. :D
  • xm8 is basically the g36k, but slower and hit 100% through boxes.

They say that...But the XM8 and G36 do /not/ feel similar. I love the XM8. I've never really cared for the G36.
  • Since I haven't been able to play with the new patch I would currently have to say XM8.
Until I play this weekend thats all I can say.
Tar sounds good though, I have heard a lot of positive feed backs.
  • Are there any other guns I should look into, I can find someone in game that will allow me to try it in a GM setting. I like guns with a nice rof and acc a contolable recoil/spray a gun that doesnt slow me down too much and reload rate needs to be decent because most ghosts wait till u reload to attack. and the only thing I don't like about the XM8 is its sci-fi like design maybe if it was a darker color that would be cool.

I'm ganna be just a little bit of a jerk...

Are you more worried about guns that are ganna kill, or which one looks good with your purse? (See, toldja.)

Ignore the looks of the guns. Worry about whether or not they do the work you need. If the XM8 feels right and does the work, and it will, then you'll be in good shape.

Outside of jerk-mode, there, I've seen some people do some real work with the new Tar21. And I've had a surprising amount of fun, and luck, with the M60 before, as well.

Good luck on finding that Ghost-killer.
  • how would you know that they will be fixing the ammo capacity for the M12s? cause if you get it now and they patch it they will patch yours too.

    AUG-A1 or TAR
  • i like aug best cuz good acucy + low recoil. (1 downside : the slow reaload, need pistol in bag)
  • Don't go for the M12... that's just my opinion... now here's my opinion on the other 3 guns, owning the G36K, and picking up and playing extesnsively with the other 2 to see how ithey fit me.

EXTENSIVE TEXT BELOW (With just a little bit of bias)

G36K: The recoil takes some time (A couple of matches) To get used to, as does the fast rate of fire. It's a upper-medium powered rifle, as it takes 3 shots to the body to kill, 4 to the arm, and 5 to the leg. The first 2-4 bullets go straight, and then it'll go up for 4 bullets, right for 2, up for 2, left for about 5, then the rest is too random. Generally, it has a tight spread, and if you can aim at the chest, it's almost an instant kill, do to it pushing up for an almost immediate headshot. The ROF is where you wanna watch yourself, as doing a 3bullet burst (For a rifle like the AUG or M4A1) will give you a 5 - 7 bullet burst. Good thing about that is an almost instant kill. Bad thing is you'll find yourself running out of ammo, and it's an amazing close range weapon, and pretty good at mid to mid-long range. Long range it's above average, but you'll need to do a 2-4 bullet burst. You can take out 2 enemies in the span of less than 2 seconds doing body shots. It's pretty lightweight, although, if you're switching to this from an AUG, then you'll want to do a couple of practice rounds, as the recoil will screw you up, and so will the rate of fire. Used correctly, it can/will own any other gun (Besides for the XM8 (Yes, this includes the Scar Light)). The recoil isn't hard, but it's... a bit different. It has three distinct recoil spreads

    7
    ?
    Reverse 7

It alternates consecutively though, which each burst of fire you do.

Adjustment to the recoil should be done quicker than most guns, do to the ROF.

So here's the run down on the G36K

    Pros:

    Fast fire rate
    good rate of damage
    Retains it's power through walls
    Quick reload (About 2 seconds)
    lightweight
Great all around gun, especially for offensive/all around gunners
    Great Accuracy
    Scope

    Cons:

Fast fire rate (More pro than con)
Recoil is varied, so you need to keep track of your bursts
(Don't get me wrong, it's easy to learn, but you need to keep track)
Scope sucks when scoping from really long range

Overall score: 9.8/10 (For people switching over from a noob gun (Scar guns, K-2, K1A, M16) 15/10 (For people who have been using good guns)

Correction: 10/10 if switching over from a noob gun... because you came to your senses...

    XM8

    Pros:
Everything the G36K does, it can do better

    Cons:

    ROF is lower the G36K's
    Power is a bit lower
    A bit more weight
    Scope is even worse

    TAR

I won't even bother with this one, as I can't stand using it
