  • When they move theybecome more visible. And they also breathe very loud. So get headphones, and listen for breath.

It`s not easy to detect them if you don`t have a good headphone and play everyday. It would take you some times to get use of " breath detection , foot steps , noise from jump etc." now it`s more difficult with the noise down + shovel + bunny hop + plus spops user noobs."( You only know that he was there after you die ):D Good luck
Edit : DO NOT play GM if you don`t have headphones:p
  • Im am not a pro but i will give u some tips.

    1. Headphones - loud u need to hear breath before u are death
    2. Walk - if u see/hear that GR next to u is on shift u too walk so u both can hear good
    3. Know map - it will go with exp.
    a) U will be able to tell where is ghost by hearing different footstep, jumping down sound (ouhh)
    b) Lame spots - there are some place where 60% of ghost stay
    4. Know ur enemy: (also exp)
    a) u should know where are Ghost at begin and know where they might go
    b) bunny hoper - they can move fast but most of them end at wall/coroner etc.
    5. Smoke/light - ghost are visible in smoke (but not in center of smoke), some light like A point in laboratory and lasers in new map complex.

    6. Very important - Pinpointing

Thank to stereo headphones u can here witch side is ghost. If u hear ghost in left ear move ur weapon to left:
    a) slowly until u hear in left and right ear same.
    b) move fast to left, and if u hear in right more move to right and again and again - if u will get some practices u will able to pinpoint whit small fast move.

Pinpoint is working in 2d so u are left with decision up/middle/down (depends on map)
Is good to use headphones on same vol every time u play, thx to that and some exp u will be able to tell how far is ghost.

If there is some ghost with breath down and noobish shovel u need to be aware that they can kill u before u hear them so u need to move slowly and have eyes and ears open.

Do not ever: nade GR, Flash GR, and throw smoke direct on bomb, spot u want to see.
Don't use: RPK, m60 and other noisy weapon.
Don't shoot without reason / don't spray - more u shoot less u hear and more ppl from GR and BL wanna kill u. (If ppl from GR wanna go to ur home and snap ur neck U are doing something very bad)

Thats my tips, and my opinion so if some1 got something to add is free to go.

  • how could I learn to do some GM?

Watch BuckFutter's GM tutorial and you will get the basics.

Spectating GM is not very helpful for learning GM.
Just a bunch of small ants running around, unless you know how to change the point of view and switch players.
I'm not telling you how to cause it's frowned upon to spectate matches (ty H3adsho0ter :D)
  • If you have a headset and can learn how to pinpoint ur pretty much set, although left clicking gets me kicked.
  • how could I learn to do some GM?

    By playing GM.
  • thank you, really helpful

    totally agree +1
  • Join game, nade self, spectate. You'll even get GP and XP that way (if you don't get kicked)
  • FYI, I think you mean that no one is making ghost mode games with observer mode on. Mostly because for public games there would be a possible threat of a friend joining the spectator mode and telling everyone on an outside voice chat server where all the ghosts are located.

Observer mode is possible for Ghost Mode matches. The only mode you can't use spectators on is is Mutation Mode.
  • I find it useless because if you turn it on you lose spots for players.

It should allow 16 people to play and the spectator seats be seperate from the player list.

I won't turn it on for that reason alone.
  • if your a decent GM player, sound doenst really matter that much... as long as they're arent bhopping shovel nubs, ur gonna be fine... i can still get at least a 2kdr with no sound, but 3 or 4 with sound :P
