[FIX] Socket Error W[2000] L[10053]
Hey guys.
For all the people that have the Socket error for HGWC there is an easy way to fix it.

The problem is with UPNP on your router.
Enter your routers config via the browser.

Enter the password if required.

Look for UPNP and DISABLE it.

Save your settings.
Start Pwning
Your router config may be different. You can find this information out in your User Manual.

If you go to http://www.answersthatwork.com/Download_Area/ATW_Library/Networking/Network__4-Admin_List_of_default_Router_Passwords_and_IP_addresses_Netgear_D-Link_Belkin_Linksys_Others.pdf to find your routers ip and password then google for disabling your UPNP for your router.
I cant set up installs for every router.. so you are gonna have to look for the information yourself..
If you still dont understand please pm me:rolleyes: -
I disabled UPnP on my linksys router and I still get this error.
Is there another fix?
What I don't understand is how does a feature that discovers other "Plug n Play" devices have to do with running Cross fire ..?
EDIT: Sorry for bumping an old post. -
socket error has nothing to do with the UPNP mine is enabled and works fine socket errors are connection issues when connecting to the server the connection has been forcefully rejected the best way to find a possible solution to such a thing would be to contact your ISP and ask them to check all your connections to the game

In my experience the error is simply due to high server loads. I received the error one time and one time only. When I tried to reconnect it worked fine. The same thing happened to someone that I was assisting in the IRC channel. After 5 tries he was able to reconnect.

This isn't even an IP, you're just trying to be smart. Its the number of your router to get acces trough your own internet to your router. -
