Socket Error?
Hi guys, I have re-installed Crossfire after the new patch, and now I succeded to download the patch and when i start the game, the HGWC box cant start. I get this errors all the time, like Socket Error: W[2000] L[10053] And another Error ( I cant find the name of that error ). Please help me!?

CRC errors try restarting.
In fact restarting is really never a bad idea if you get an error.
As for the socket error, if it's referencing a REZ file or folder it could mean that somehow the contents of those files got changed or corrupted. It might be worth downloading the new cilent. (Try the torrent its the fastest) -

I did Download it from homepage, But i guess this isn't my day, cause this isnt the only problem I had today >.< Well, I will try Uninstall it, then re-install it again, If it doesn't work, I will cry xd -

Right click on the crossfire icon, and choose run as... in the windows click on accept, is going to pop a error on picture, accetp an run the game again. -
I have the same problem, 20mins ago i just played this without any problem, but when i try to play again, that Socket error comes out.i'm a vista user, i had the same error, I restarted cf but I run it as ADMIN. (cf shortcut on your desktop) run it as admin, it might work...
i always run my CF Client as Admin.. but now it doesn't work.
Help me pls!

I got it as well (the Socket problem). before that sometimes the Xtrap give me other error, cant remember which.
I use AVG antivirus, but its not blocking the game so it shouldnt be the problem. besides, ive played many times this game and it never happened.
What i did is to try entering the game many times despite the S****et error, eventually it worked. But when the game loaded it showed me "Cannot connect to server" error, and it exited the game.
What should I do?? -

i got the same error so i did my Windows account log off and on aggain and its solved to me now you guys should try the same
(P.s many you need to now i did it on Windows XP idk if it workes for Vista to, if it dont then i just can say srry guys :S ).
