Reporting Hackers and the Ban List
ok so what with the closure of the ban list and all, the honest players and those who report players have no way of seeing if their hack reports have come into fruition.
i have personally reported hackers about 15 times, not once have i seen the hackers name on the banlist, and i only report when im sure, when the aimbot is so obvious or the 1 shot is really really getting to me.
not once have i ever had a reply informing me that the report is being considered or that the player has been banned. not a single reply from any GM, MOD or even the [CF] Reports.
with the removal of the banlist, i think it is important that the mods give feedback on the state of hackers within the community, even at a basic level so there is a form of trust between the community and the Mods.
we report hackers so they are removed and this enhances our gaming experience. without any form of feedback to us, Z8 has damaged its standing in the community. now there is no point in reporting players as we dont even know if they will be banned.

Considering the amounts of replays we get, along with other work, they don't always have time to reply to everyone. Hackers are dealt with accordingly, I don't see why it's so important to see the list, if they truly hacked, and the GM's saw it, it'll be dealt with. Remember, they're only human, and there's only so much time in a day

I understand but how hard can it be just to reply back saying two words.. -

PM's can be downloaded and put on a notepad (or such) and makes it quite more easier to watch things than switch every time. Plus the fake ones, be grateful they are dealt with. -
ok well rex, that doesnt explain in several instances where in the first round there is some kid with a 1 hit K.O, i stay till the end of the first round he ranks up a 7 - 0 KD in the first round, i leave and save the replay and report. it takes longer for me to actually report the guy that i just spent in game with him. it should take half that to see the guy is either really really good or hes a ballet dancer with all thise twirls.
call it 5 minutes to watch the 2min replay and click 'BAN' button. done.
or is that not the case?
i think ive reported in this way for about 4 of my 15 reports. and i have never once received a PM saying the case was being dealt with.
ok so some suggestions:
why not enable an automatic PM to the reporting player, when their report is opened by a mod. saying something like 'Thankyou for your co-operation. we are now dealing with this case'. that would simplify it. all we are asking for is some kind of productive feedback to show that our efforts have not fallen on deaf ears.
sort out the replay system. that way mods won't have to sit with their thumbs up their asses for half an hour where they try to find/get to the bit of the replay with the hacker.
re-implement the ban list. the only reason you (the MOD team) gave for its removal was and i quote: 'its not necessary anymore' great reason there. really wonderful. thing is it IS necessary, or at least it is if you want the longer playing players to report. we like to see it when some 2nd LT or 1st LT gets banned.
my point is we dont actually see the hackers being banned. you can say they are being dealt with all you want, but it doesnt make it true does it? prove us wrong. wall of shame, ban list, player PM's. give us something to show for our efforts. -
Have a heart
I really feel for the MoDs because there are so many reports to get thru
Remember its only Saidin who does the BAN ( I think)
His inbox is full of reports
In some games you get aimbotters, 1 hit killers and wallers not to mention Glitch Noobs
You could have many cheats in any one match... think of all the honest good players reporting on that 1 game
I have seen games where obvious cheats are being reported by all the legit players for 1 game
The hacks needs plugging and the glitches where possible
Then the MoDs can get back to doing what they need to do and not writing back to reporters to say
I got your PM
In time the hack / glitches will be under more control until then please
Give the MoDs a break:) -
Ok i have a question..ever since the patch was put in...every time i go to get in the game..it says Hack Tool Dectected....but i dont hack?..im not that computer smart to do all that crap and i sure as hell dont want a virus...and when i can get on the game..it always says Server Full..then Disconnected From Server?..does anybody know what is causing this?

Actually this is quite the opposite.
Almost every major game developer or publisher does not make their ban list public. The fact remains the ban list was there for users to find out why they weren't able to connect to our servers. IE why they were banned.
We now convey this message to players when they log in.
There is always going to be an element of trust between the user and the company, but pulling people off the "refresh every 2 minutes" ideal of the ban list is something we have wanted to do for a while.
We are busy. Yes. That is a known fact, but we DO get to each report and review each case and make sure that when we issue a ban we are doing so with the fullest amount of confidence that the ban is justified.
We hope that you guys will see it that way.
We want you to continue to report malicious users. But we also want your trust to know that we are getting to those reports and will take the appropriate action when necessary. -

yes, i know there is a LOT of work in watching replays and dealing with reports.
i was one of the first players who "cried" when banlist was removed.
anyway... all i want to say here is that in the last ~2 months, i have ~50!!! reports sent to [CF]Reports. NONE of these reports were read... and all of these reports are obvious CHEATERS OR GLITCHERS!
now... maybe an increasing number of person who watch these reports will be the solution! i want to see that my reports are AT LEAST readed!!!! and ofcourse, i want to see that the cheaters are punished!
how could this be possible? -
i think youre failing to see the point. many people who report feel like their efforts are unnoticed or ignored. it used to be they could see the results with the ban list, now it is impossible. most people who report never recieve notification that anything has been done. i really cant stress this point enough.
you say you have wanted to remove the banlist for a while now, well tbh how much time did it take to upkeep the banlist and to refresh it perhaps once a day. i would say half an hour tops to refresh it each day. that was the only thing which really demonstrated that hackers were indeed being banned.
tbh it makes no sense as to why you removed the ban list. certainly you have this new system of notifying hackers. but how many hackers actually checked the ban list when they were banned for a start? i mean surely you had the PM ban notification system when the ban list was still being used. it would make no sense for this not to be...
perhaps you need to start actually removing the hackers accounts from your system. players such as hellsing for instance. i think it is high time that accounts were actually deleted rather than being blocked from the player.
