bad computer
Ok, well here is the situation.
I have a single core 1.6ghz CPU 2g ram 32bit vista with a 256mb integrated graphics card.
I overclocked my processor as high as it will let me (2ghz) I am really bored. Crossfire can't play good. I have the smallest case in the world. I won't even be able to upgrade my power supply.
I currently have $180.
I have razer death adder and razer golithus mouse pad. And lousy huge weird monitor thing.
Ideas?? I don't have any pci or pci-e slots either. The max ram I can have is 4g and I only have 2 ram slots. So gimme some ideas people!

Well first of all, OCing your CPU from 1.6 to 2ghz is going to force you to get a new computer a lot sooner than you might want / be able to.
And honestly if you only have AGP slots it might not even be worth the money upgrading. Save up some money and just get a whole new comp for around 500-600. -

Watch from
2:22 to 3:50
Hopefully it might workout for you.
Also, gameboosters, tweaking softwares that kind of thing also might work.
-Watch your temps for cpu.., if you have a micro atx case, the chance is that your pc will get quite hot than well ventilated pc, if itt is hot, you are slow cooking the other components in your pc too...
safe temp range..
amd- upto 40-45 in that case...(approx idea)
intel- upo 40-50 in that type of case.(approx idea) -
I Disagree with this as i have had my pc over clocked from a 1.6 too a 2.1 sumtin for years now. Make sure you have enough cooling.[MOD]BlindRob wrote: »Well first of all, OCing your CPU from 1.6 to 2ghz is going to force you to get a new computer a lot sooner than you might want / be able to.
This though is true i myself have AGP the price you pay for the AGP you can get a PCI or PCI-e for The same price and they burn circles around the AGP's.[MOD]BlindRob wrote: »And honestly if you only have AGP slots it might not even be worth the money upgrading. As rob said Buy a new one

Well. I want this comp to die. Nuff said.[MOD]BlindRob wrote: »Well first of all, OCing your CPU from 1.6 to 2ghz is going to force you to get a new computer a lot sooner than you might want / be able to.

I did. Even search indexer and all the random stuffclose all programs that are running, close all downloads, all recording programs closed, delete some stuff of your computer to make space and that should do it.
It probably is. I have an emachine el1300g-01wCrackinDomes wrote: »lol the specs sound like my emachines
I just need something that can run crossfire smoothly, is that too much to ask??
Btw, I am running nvidia integrated. -
lol... but seriously...Here is a great guide for extreme overclocking:

All you need is:
-Special equipment (all is in the video, you can easily set it up)
-Special ingredient
Good luck!
I just need something that can run fps without catching frames. And keep a constant 60+fps -
Yeah I know I can. I just want to play CF though. And looking for a whole new computer at my age is like months. I want a better computer that runs a constant 60+fps...MY advise is, just like BlindRob's, save some more money and then search for PC components..
You can build some cool and powerful PC -

Well, till you save up some money you can use Game Booster or just shut down some programs when your playing CF for more free memory.. -
the only things I see are my basic operting system parts and a few windows host services before I start up crossfire.Well, till you save up some money you can use Game Booster or just shut down some programs when your playing CF for more free memory.. -

Uh, well then, the only solution for you is to play games with small number of players... Less players in room, more FPS you will have.. -
The answers I am getting aren't really helping me that much...

That is my comp. I am gonna rip any parts necessary from it or add on little by little. Look at it before you do your next post. -
hmmmmm try uninstalling the game. then don't install. then shutdown your comp for 5 minutes. then wait will it starts up. download the whole game again. with takes like 4 hours for me. then see if it works. if you got new kill-marks like the awesome bar there might have been a virus or something and it messed up your CF. so then install and see what happens.

naw, it's not CF. It runs how it is supposed to.hmmmmm try uninstalling the game. then don't install. then shutdown your comp for 5 minutes. then wait will it starts up. download the whole game again. with takes like 4 hours for me. then see if it works. if you got new kill-marks like the awesome bar there might have been a virus or something and it messed up your CF. so then install and see what happens.
It is my system specs. I got a single core 1.6ghz with 2g ram. What do you expect?
I have $160 and need more power though. -
you might want to downgrade to a xp i installed Windows xp Tiny only 100+ MB on my sis laptop it doesnt take much ram = more ram for crossfire
and if u only use that pc for playing video games yeah i suggest a lite version of windows xp u can torrent those -

Stay away from overclock programs or manual tuning if you don't have the power supply.
I once overclocked my amd processor about 3 years ago,
It messed up my entire motherboard and cost me getting a new pc.
Now I have 4 cored pc and a decent graphics card yaa

I disagree on the first paragraph. It won't shorten your comps life expectiancy, it will only shorten it IF you set your CPU,GPX,RAM, and something else too high.
I agree on jus buying a new one. you can get a gateway small desktop for like $480.
