hum how about rolling back the xtrap patch

i disagree about it not working, it seems to be working very well actually. mainly the problem is people's choice of anti-viruses, and their functions. McAfee seems to be a big one in that regard. X-trap is what brought new light to hackers failing terribly save for a small few. its actually starting to clean up.

McAfee is ALWAYS a big problem XD For awhile it wouldn't even let me mod Fallout 3 XD -
"mainly the problem is people's choice of anti-viruses "
oh ya thats the problem with the new patch that people chose the wrong anti virus that
just happens to do what its supposed to fine
" and their functions. "
like *cough catch viruses*
or maybe like its my hipps firewall commodo thats the problem
when i see its log for
app (crossfire ) attempted to (access memory ) target (cmdagent.exe "which is comodo")
date(4/4/10) which is right when i patched
looks like commodo's working fine
well im sure your right
so lets turn off both and run the game wow same error
ya so thier goes your poor antivirus choice idea -

I sure hope you have a huge background in computers to know what your talking about. If this anti-virus was such a big program how come i've never heard of it? and if you told us which error you even had, perhaps that would give you the source of your problem? X-trap searches processes for hacks, and in such a case, many anti-virus software detect such as a virus falsely. hence why many mcafee users have such trouble. my 'poor' antivirus choice at least protects my computer, probably better than yous and at least allows me to play crossfire. my computers make it past manufacturing life expectancy for a reason. -
Don't know what version of AVG your using, i never had such an issue, nor with Avast. though i recommend Avast a bit more.ok well i use AVG 9.0, by you saying i never had such an issue I guess you use it also so what version do you use?

Because of the way Xtrap works it's very intrusive as would a virus be, the difference is xtrap is intrusive to ensure there are hacks, whereas a virus is intrusive with the intent to cause harm to your computer and/or privacy.
Z8 would not distribute virus as there business model would collapse. -
Can you name some please?Avast and AVG are top free anti-viruses.Lol you're kidding. I use AVG and I can't play crossfire because of xtrap error.AVG allows a very easy fix for that, that you probably don't know off yet. You should do the following:
- Open up your AVG anti-virus interface.
- Go to "Extra > Advanced Settings"
- Select "Exceptional Folders" in the left hand colon and click "Add Path"
- Search for your Crossfire Folder in "Program Files"
(This Folder can be called "Subagames" or "Z8games", depending on when you installed the game.)
- Add this path and restart your computer.
If you follow these steps, then you shouldn't be getting any more errors of AVG thinking that X-Trap is a Trojan.

1 avast => detect a trojan horse
1 nomran => detect nothing
1 avira => detect nothing
avast works fine but y detect a virus what there isn't
Your other 2 anti-virus programs fail I think you meen norman not nomran .. if you meen norman that is the worst anti-virus you can have I had it and it never let me play ANY game at all it sucks so hard it says that EVERYTHING is a virus while Avast detects and removes viruses and lets my play normaly.. people that have problems with Avast are just hackers
