  • I found another way that helped me. Maybe its illegal maybe its not, but I don't care. I found a way to bypass XTrap, since XTrap is one with issues, and my game is running normally. If you want to do the same, just google it. Have a nice day ^^

    bypass XTrap <--Maybe?
I'm not trying this way thought.. :)
I don't feel so secure with this choice.
And Blackkie, nice helping here. ^^
    Thank you for that.
Also I'm having Administrator issues with my sweetie.
And I couldn't force down Avira antivir.

But, I'll just wait untill X-trap's update. :)
    Keep on going!
    You are awesome! <*^_^*>
    *Hugs*
  • yeah i dont think ill try to bypass xtrap.. Kinda looks like something hackers do and would be illegal.
  • I was thinking same..
But I'm not saying that you are Mentala. :)
But I bet that MODs etc won't think that it's legal.
  • yea, well, every solution i came up with worked, until i restarted my PC, and then again error, and any method that worked, now don't work.... i don't know what to do.... :(
  • AVG 8.5 uninstall and reinstall.

shutting down all security processes from AVG , threatfire and adaware didnt work.
The xtrap file being blocked could not be found through the regular methods ( virus vault, resident sheild etc etc. ). ( I did find one in the virus vault but apparently there was no way to restore it. An uninstall and re install was so much faster and efficient than putz.ing around with the AVG 8.5.

The only thing that works is a fresh install of the game against a fresh install of the antivirus program.

In this case it seemed that even with AVG ( and all other security software )totally removed, the game still got same error. This can onlt be due to the fact that in the last patch, A file did not make it into the game or xtrap. So even removing the antivirus did not work.

If you have uninstalled and reinstalled all ( your security suite and crossfire ) and still have error, maybe there is more on your computer like adaware or spyware doctor etc etc.
  • When I ran both process I experienced the issue. I than forced both process to close and the issue remained. I than manually opened routes in COMODO to allow Xtrap to run; Result = Issue remained. KNOWING the history of issues with COMODO I uninstalled that program, restarted and was able to run CF without any issues. I than did some research on COMODO and there has been an issue history with various other programs that dated as far back as mid 2009. There's SOMETHING in the root of it's internal process (even after it's forced to end process) that prevents programs to run.

My advice; If you REALLY want to get into the game until Xtrap reconfigures their latest update for full compatibility with all Firewalls/Antiviruses, uninstall COMODO and either keep it off your computer until the root issue is resolved, or research other secure firewall with cleaner user-ability.

COMODO is the ONLY thing standing between you and the game process from running. I do apologize I couldn't find a root result fix with COMODO, but I did present a method in which you CAN fix the problem by removing/uninstalling COMODO completely.

Thanks, but I really rather not go without a firewall or have to reset all my allows when i reinstall it...sigh, well goodbye shovel....
  • Sorry it don't work... I reinstall my xp and i don't install any antivirus software. I disabled my firewalls , both of them. It's still the same. So it's B#llsh?t...................

You didnt have to reinstall xp but... did you downlaod a fresh copy of the crossfire exe installer file and let it install with no antivirus??

That should have worked. In my case the File ( or 2 ) was caught in the downloading the setup phase. So a succesful install at that point meant it installed without a file or 2. Thats why it times out.
  • Crossfire Is working for me now and Threat Fire has stopped so whisper me in game, ign: Mercy_
