Timed Out/01-0400-00000000-701 Fix [Tutorial]
The 'Xtrap issue' has again began to circulate following this past update [Xtrap]. There still stands a crowd of users who DON'T know how to fix this so below I've provided a STEP BY STEP tutorial. The Timed Out/Fail to Load error is due to an anti-virus denying run. Until Xtrap fixes the coding on their end, there's only one way around this issue and that's providing an open lane so to speak. This process is forcefully suspending your anti-virus's process. So when you finish playing the game, I recommend you re-open your anti-virus, allowing it to monitor your CPU. There should be NO questions as to WHAT to do as I've provided the MUCH NEEDED information. Enjoy...and forward to users if they're still looking for the information.
ERROR
Step No.1 -- Accessing Your Task Manager
This process will open all access for Xtrap to open freely without any limitations. KEEP IN MIND, you have NO ANTI-VIRUS RUNNING so any network sharing is completely at your discretion and I wouldn't advise any networking period until you re-open your anti-virus after you've finished playing the game.
I hope this has helped EVERYONE scouring for answers...if in this case this STILL DOES NOT WORK, you must also deactivate your firewall, if allowing the application(s) manually in your firewall settings isn't enough. But as much as suspending [full] your anti-virus SHOULD do the trick. Enjoy...
UPDATE FOR WINDOWS XP USERS
Due to the lack of user friendly options, you may have to do a little homework if your not 100% on the file name(s) of your anti-virus. In MOST cases they are self explanatory and back to back, but if your not certain than you'll need to export your process list and Google the filename(s) you think they may be. Example: "AVGac.exe". Some friendly advice, and/or tips; EVERY application process filename is labeled with the product name in it, or an abbreviation. You may have to think a little to figure it out, but I assure you it isn't difficult.

ERROR
Step No.1 -- Accessing Your Task Manager
- Ctrl + Alt + Delete or Right-Click your toolbar/taskbar (the bottom bar where your open applications are ordered) and click 'Task Manager'.
- Click the Processes tab on the top of the window;
Applications | Processes | Services | Performance | Networking | Users
- Click the Administrative button for viewing ALL processes in Administrator mode.

- Order-down the description tab, describing ALL the processes, by clicking the word Description.
- Find the 2 anti-virus processes, click them and forcefully end the processes by click the End Process button in the bottom corner of the window.

In the example images, my anti-virus is Threatfire. Be sure to ONLY end the two anti-virus processes on your CPU and no others.

- Step No.4: Launch your word processing program, load the tasklist.rtf document, and investigate the nicely formatted report for your anti-virus filename(s).

The issue is due to your CPU not granting complete access for the application to run. This can ONLY mean a few things. You DON'T need to uninstall anything to get this to run properly, you only need to make a path. So in order for me to do some troubleshoothing I'll need a few piece of information to help out.
- Windows [Version]
- Anti-Virus [Name & Version]
- Firewall [Name & Version]
- Administrative Account or User Account
- Standard Modem/Router or Wireless
- Any additional security applications or add-on's, list...

I JUST installed the exact information you provided. Allow me to test a few trials....Check back for the How To [max wait 15mins].
UPDATE
When I ran both process I experienced the issue. I than forced both process to close and the issue remained. I than manually opened routes in COMODO to allow Xtrap to run; Result = Issue remained. KNOWING the history of issues with COMODO I uninstalled that program, restarted and was able to run CF without any issues. I than did some research on COMODO and there has been an issue history with various other programs that dated as far back as mid 2009. There's SOMETHING in the root of it's internal process (even after it's forced to end process) that prevents programs to run.
My advice; If you REALLY want to get into the game until Xtrap reconfigures their latest update for full compatibility with all Firewalls/Antiviruses, uninstall COMODO and either keep it off your computer until the root issue is resolved, or research other secure firewall with cleaner user-ability.
COMODO is the ONLY thing standing between you and the game process from running. I do apologize I couldn't find a root result fix with COMODO, but I did present a method in which you CAN fix the problem by removing/uninstalling COMODO completely. -
Hey uhm when i try to end the proccess of TFService.exe it says : The Operation could no be completed. Acess is Denied
Typically means you don't have administrator rights. So try this;- Download Process Explorer, and advanced Process Manager with more function-ability.
- Unzip to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Accessories\SystemTools. If this DOES NOT show up in the accessories folder in your StartMenu, manually drag it from WinZip/WinRAR into the folder by go to StartMenu>Search and inputting C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Accessories\SystemTools
- Now go to Start Menu > Program Files > Accessories > System Tools and Right-Click on procexp and click 'Run as Administrator'.
- In the Process Explorer find the Process(es) you wish to end Right-Click the process and you can either try Suspending or Killing the Process; Killing it is also known as End Process.
I hope this method worked for you... -
The Process still wont end, is it worth blanking my computer clean for a new fresh start, and if so could you help me with that.
Only as a last resort if it's a MUST, so to speak. I'm actually having administrative issues on my laptop. Allow me to try and find a universal fix and that might help you as well. Mind letting me know what Operating System and whether or not your an administrator account or user account. This will better help me research your issue. -
Windows XP
This is an unorthodox way of going about this but it SHOULD work.- Start Menu > Run
- Type in msconfig (System Configuration)
- Click on the Startup Tab
- Order-down the Startup items and uncheck Threatfire
- Restart your CPU
Once a day, go back in there and check Threatfire, restart and see if they updated a general fix. If not- you'll know how to go about the process of playing.
Sadly, I can't fix your Administrator issue though. I'm still trying to figure out my Administrator issue... -

This is the EXACT issue I'm having with my laptop...which I'm trying to figure out at this very moment. I've tried a dozen different things, but I THINK I may have found the fix, so I'll release an update inside an edit in the next 5-10mins.

UPDATE
Nothing...
I'll be sure to post here, and via. PM if I get anything aside from Uninstalling Threatfire before Xtrap patches a fix. I do apologize... -
and if its not there? I dont even know if i have that firewall .. I think I use windows firewall
That's something you'll need to figure out. In the Start Menu search bar, search Firewall. Windows Firewall SHOULD show up, so click on it and inside you'll see if it's enabled. -
It came up so I just disabled it. But I had already recently turned it off to see if it would work but no luck.BobbyBlackk wrote: »That's something you'll need to figure out.
