Need help! laptop freezes

Hello z8/crossfire players/forum members:

Well i've been playing crossfire on my brother's laptop for awhile. It is a windows xp home professional. But after a few minutes into a game the laptop freezes for no reason. I have very good high speed internet however the laptop lags. I changed the compatibility mode to windows 2000 but still nothing. Can anyone please help me? Any suggestions are greatly appreicated. Thanks!

cant u buy vista or windows 7?
maybe that'll a good idea?

the laptop can be over heating. same thing with mine.

i have 2 laptops. My other laptop is a high performance vista home preium laptop. IT has a password so i can't play on that laptop a lot. In addition, crossfire doesn't work on that laptop because stupid McAfee thought it is a virus (atermis).
