Video making and editing

Use a camcorder for recording and a paper timeline for editing, should get you on your way.

Use Fraps for recording replays (don't record in game like a f*ggot) and Sony Vegas 8.0. Don't get 9.0, it doesn't let you do as much stuff with the basic studio, but there are more avaliable plug-in's (things that you can download legally that let you do extra things). If you're aspiring to become one of the best, I suggest getting Adobe After Effects, too.

And if you're not willing to download *illegally* then you're gonna have to buckle down and invest $1000+ in editing equipment.
