Users participating in "J3RJ3RFAC3"'s survey

This is a message to the people who have participated in a product survey by "J3RJ3RFAC3". It was posted in the off topic forums here.
This survey offered items and ZP prizes to players. We are not sponsoring the free ZP giveaway. This "survey" may have been an attempt to get your email address and other personal information.
If you participated in this survey we would recommend changing your passwords and security questions/answers. The security question "What was the name of your first pet?" is a common question to ask for security. Through this survey this person may have been able to find out this information and could use it against you to gain access to your Z8Games Account.
There is no way that a player can give free ZP to another player unless they are using the gifting system. And even that system only requires the player to know your IGN to gift you the ZP.
We apologize that no one saw this earlier.
NEVER give out personal information or anything relating to your account. Your LoginID, email address and security question answer should all be private to you, the creator of the account.

I don't go with the default security bull.
I didn't even do the survey thing anyways. No one can just hand out free ZP unless its a small amount but even considering its ZP why would you?
+ I BUY my ZP im not cheap.

The only way to purchase ZP for another player is to use a prepaid card and gift the amount to them.
Double thread is just for exposure for now. -

Well, actually the way he was doing it was through playspan (noted from his thread before you guys got rid of it).
You can easily just purchase the 10k ZP through the website or do the surveys (like I did) and when you get enough points you do the redeem code.
I'm sure you already know this.

Yes, Saidin, I know how the system works. I know you can't just hand ZP.
Sorry I didn't make myself clearer.
I'v been here long enough to know.
What I was saying was every ZP counts so why give it away? For free?

He was doing a project for school or something apparently.
Maybe he just wanted to give a little incentive for people who took the survey.
Obviously no one would have done it otherwise. -

Honestly, it's not that hard to get that much either.
I did playspan surveys and had enough points for 120k GP & 50% exp up for 30 days..
I love how z8 gets rid of legit people and keeps the hackers and real scammers.

I believe this decision made by Saidin was poorly addressed since as stated by MaryJane, did get the prize as indicated by J3RJ3RFAC3 deleted thread. The other thing is, why was his thread deleted?? Could have simply closed the thread. -

I've seen the same thing where a mod didn't look over the whole topic but rather the first post, and closed it because he thought we were still talking about that (was closed for nearly the same reason as this). I'm not gonna say any names though. -
Hi everyone, this is J3RJ3RFAC3. Before this gets out of hand, I would like to state my side of the story. This was a University project that my group and I had to do. It is a project where we were suppose to come up with a product that present it to the class. One of the components in the project guideline is to conduct a survey as primary research. I decided to involve the CF community in hopes in getting valid information for my project. For people who did the survey and wants proof of the document, it's in Google Doc and can be sent to you if you have a Gmail account. Anyhow, there is a part in the thread that I asked for your IGN and can be displayed as pet name in the survey. This is for my purposes so I know who did the survey and who is who. THERE WAS NO INTENTION FOR SCAMMING as I am not highly knowledgeable in terms of hacking.
Now for people who question about my prizes. The intention was to persuade more people to do the survey as it looks attractive compare to no incentives because no on will care. These prizes as stated in the thread was sponsored from PlaySpan. If you have not gone on the site yet, it allows you to "gift" the prize or simply just purchase it. For the purpose for convenience, I buy the prize and give out the code to redeem the prize to the winners. Like MaryJane said, she got her prize without any troubles. I still owe two people prizes because I am unable to log into my PlaySpan account for some reason (though it's not Z8 problem). I got evidence of my transactions and I am gladly to send it through.
I hope this gives you a better insight of the purpose of this survey and there's no intention to scam. I am surprised the way GMs took action and completely accuse me for scamming without telling me or asking for proof before making the decision. This has been going on for 3 weeks and there was no concerns. Please look into this before making an assumption that I am scamming. If there's any questions or concerns, feel free to state it and I am gladly answer it. I hope my account will be unbanned. Thank you. -

The "3rd" prize was listed as sponsored by z8games.
This was an unofficial claim. We did not sponsor it. Nor did playspan sponsor their prizes (buying codes from playspan does not mean they sponsored it).
He used the sponsorship to gain trust from users in an attempt to find information about them.
This action can not be condoned at ALL on our forums. It falls under scamming, impersonation and advertising. All of which are "bannable" offenses on our site/game.
Considering we're dealing with a high volume of people who are willingly giving out account information we have to make sure that this type of action receives punishment as an example for all. -
Not to mention that players buying points through playspan for other people may also end up with their account closed.
An example transaction may proceed like this:
Player buys a code on a stolen credit card, gives code to other player. Other player redeems the code and spends points on their account.
Playspan finds that the card/code/actions do not add up (be it a stolen credit card, or an expired account or any other account activity playspan deems enough to rescind the payment.
When that happens then we automatically block the account the points were redeemed on. Because playspan has taken back the money originally used. Investigations then have to be opened all the while the player has lost the ability to play on their account.
This is why we provide a gifting system through prepaid cards and through our site. Because following the above procedures just results in frustrations for everyone involved.
