The Irony of Protection:

Get a better anti-virus.
One where you don't have to worry about false positives.
I thought it was just my anti-virus causing the issue. If you go to technical support you will see it's across the board.
What would you suggest?
Thanks for help,

Set an exception in your anti-virus settings (if it has the capability).
Unless you downloaded CF from an untrustworthy site you should be fine. -

I'm one of those people that believes in doing everything by the book. As I'm sure about 99% of those here do as well. Only download from trusted official web pages.
I'm always open to suggestions and not to old a dog to learn a new trick or a better way of doing things.
I'll try your suggestion as it sounds logical and easy enough for my feeble brain to handle.
What ever xtrap did today I'm sure is only temporary as most cases like this usually are. Just a matter of time before a hot fix comes out and it's business as usuall. But in the interum it's good to be prepared.
Hope for the best...plan for the worse,

Xtrap is safe but can be seen as a virus by these softwares, simply use the 'exclusions' within your anti virus software such as NOD32 and exclude the entire 'crossfire folder'.
Prior to the above disable anti virus software before installing crossfire and adding the exclusion. -
What is NOD32? I have never heard of it.
(I'm gonna learn something new today o_0)
ESET Nod32.
Works perfect for me.NOD32 is the old version of the antivirus ESET Security.
Not too great...I prefer Avira.
Old?
They still update it all the time.
I've never had a problem with it either. -

ESET NOD32 is the old version of the ESET Security w/e is the name I forgot it.
They update it, ye, but its the old version of the New ESET security stuff.
Its like gettin Avira 8, whenever the 10 version is out. Avira 8 still gets updated. -

You don't even know what you are talking about.
