Crossfire Properties Compatibility

Hi,

I'm looking now in Compatibility of crossfire.

I have some questions...

What is the best os for crossfire?
I have
-Windows 95
-Windows 98
-Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5)
-Windows 2000
-Windows XP (service pack 2)
-Windows XP (service pack 3)
-Windows server 2003 (service Pack 1)
-Windows server 2008 (service Pack 1)
-Windows Vista
-Windows Vista (service pack 1)
-Windows Vista (service pack 2)

and i have some options, must I disable or able it for best crossfire gaming perfomance:

(run this program in compatibility mode for)
Run in 256 colors
Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution
Disable visual themes
Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
Run this program as an administrater

My guess would be WinXP(SP3) with the 3 disable options, disabled.

all disabled?
and run as administration?

Well disabling them would decrease your CPU load, which would help your game load a bit quicker. I don't know about running as an admin though.

The run as admin option isn't in XP, only Vista and later iterations of Windows.

jesus. here is laymans terms:

WINDOWS XP SP3 IS THE BEST OS FOR CF.

when XP blocks ANYTHING saying "windows has blocked crossfire.exe from the internet" than click allow, and the "allow" option for anything that's crossfire related.

i can help you along the way. XP in essence, is the best gaming os, in my opinion

For games with old system, new games all run better in windows 7, and dont forget in April 2010 Microsoft wont support any more windows xp1; xp2 and Vista RTM.

Google XP gamer edition, then read tutorials on installing Operating Systems.
Windows 7 decrease's FPS in games, but runs them better.

Windows XP seems to be the best. I use it to run CF and I rarely crash and get a nice framerate. I've heard of some issues with Vista and 7 so I would say Windows XP SP2 or SP3 would be the best.
