Image signatures?

Ok I know that there has probably already been a thread made about Image signatures.
But I don't feel like looking up a ton of pages in the search.
I would prefer a MOD or a GM answer my question but if someone knows then feel free to post it.
Why aren't Image signatures aloud? Were they abused in some way?
Please no flaming/trolling. I just want an honest straight up answer.
(I have always wandered why only MOD's and up could use Image sigs.)

They were never allowed in Z8 forum. Didn't see much complaints about them in suba....
I can imagine that giving everyone the right to have a img sig would get pretty annoying though. Unrelated pics after each post.....we would start looking like /b/

a post count limit would most likely be beneficial if they ever do come, but this could result in more spamming of the forums

i read a thread about that too a while back... that could a be a good idea... a certain amount of karma unlocks sigs

he did say that its really difficult to do on a portal site rather than just a forum. security issues blah blah blah.

You've demonstrated that copy/pasting a sig every single time seems to look a tad ugly.

They hope that by letting only MOD using signatures there wont be a mess with different signatures catching ur eyes..u know colors and so on ..
I miss being a MOD cuz I miss my signature and I miss it at all cuz it was fun ^^.
I'd like to use a signature again =o
But I guess I cant ...
