There's no flow whatsoever.
Text has no blending.
Colors don't mesh.

Read up on some tutorials.

They don't blend close to as well as they could.
The background really doesn't work so well either.
Neither does the text.
It's a start for a beginner though.

I am still experimenting with GIMP and watching some tutorials.

I use Photoshop but i started with GIMP. Since you use GIMP, won't be much help with telling you where to find stuff, but i can help you to start off with the simple stuff like gradients etc
