Hip-hop is dead. There's not many around anymore that impress me, immortal technique is one that I like. Other then that I only like the legends that are still around, Nas and junk.
Never, ever say that again.
What does Hip Hop make you think about?
Probably of all your favorite mc's, your city, someone you know right? Music's versatile that way, it could mean an infinite amount of things to an infinite amount of people. That's why I feel like Hip hop hasn't really changed. It still provokes emotion. It's not dead, it never died. Hip hop's image is what's at stake. People saying things like "hip hop sucks now" or "hip hop's dead" are doing the same thing as the people who promote and support new artist like the ones you hear autotuned on the radio.
I don't want to hear "hip hop is not what it used to be". Listen to any MC. Try to find a track about wack rappers, I bet you'll find one. I can tell you right now that some of the first rap songs ever written contain lyrics about fake MC's.
Just because a bunch of mediocre musicians produce music doesn't mean music is dead.
Got that "UNDERGROUND" hipsters?
"OH WOE IS ME, HIP HOP IS DEAD!"
"I can't even recite a Big-L punchline,
but I sure as hell know the chorus to "Lollipop".
The one thing that drives me crazy is when someone makes a comment about Hip Hop and feels the need to bring up and bash radio rappers and act like they are trying to invade our beloved music genre.
Well you know what, YOU'RE the one with the television on.
YOU'RE the one listening to the radio. You have a ****ing choice, stop ****ing crying about rappers who have nothing to do with hip hop.
NEWSFLASH, RAPPERS TALK ****. -

Look up P.O.S.
Some of his good songs are "Optimistic" and "Never Better". -
