I have a sony and use it with an equalizer to enhance the quality of what I want to hear in GM ,I have reduced some of the unwanted sounds and higher the tones for the sound breath and have powered the Bass and treble to their highest level , now my ears are not too much aggressed by those heavy sounds guns. But the thing is that I must be in a quiet room to play cause with the breath sound down coupling with the BH + A shovel or an axe you are a dead man if you are not able to pin point as far as you can.
In facf I want to say that even you have a good heat set , it would be wise to have a good equalizer to match the sound to your demand .:)

never NEVER ever EVER use USB headset or microphone... u dont have as much options to change and get yourself nbetter quality... using sound card is better than usb port trust me

yes headphones are important.. for true gamers....

u can tell the directionas of footsteps... mosttimes u can even tell fowards or behind you...

also makes it very easy to pinpoint ghosts in ghost mode( i get called hacker all the time in ghost mode headphones ftw)

Creative Fatal1ty, SteelSeries 5H v2, Logitech ClearChat Pro.

SteelSeries has joke mics, Creative too.

Logitech has ridiculous sound but in return a decent mic.

Probably going for a more high-end Razer if I feel the need, they seem neat.

got the same and in crossfire they are no better than 10 dollar headphones. as the mod wrote before> CF doesnt support 7.1.
for other games they rock hard though.

for music i use sennheiser HD650 with a headphone amp
