Weapon Balancing
There is a lot of discussion about so called 'noob tubes'... often with the Scar light (skill lite) coming at the receiving end of harassment...
From my experience of playing for several months though, I do not really consider the Scar as a noob weapon... in fact, I rarely get killed by scar users - perhaps only in closest range encounters. Sure, the Scar has an advantage in close range, but for me it is not a game breaker by any means. Over mid-long range I have seen many players dominate scar users with an M4, XM8, or even AK or M16.
In my experience there are only two weapons which are totally unbalanced in comparison to the rest... and those are the Kriss and P90. The P90 is far too weak, and does not reflect what a great weapon it truly is. And the Kriss... well.... where to begin??? In my opinion it is the most unbalanced weapon, and on small maps (which the majority of CF maps are) 1 Kriss user can unbalance the course of the game.
A good team, which works well together tactically, and dominates the game, can soon be pushed back to their own gates as soon as a Kriss user enters the game. A Kriss user totally dominates the mid ground on small maps, no matter whether they are a good player or not. The Kriss on small to medium maps is unstoppable and just 1 player with this weapon can change the fate of his/her team.
Just look at the smaller maps to see weapon balance. Egypt and Ship especially... who is it that always charges into the enemy base? By rights it should be the shotgun user, who should have more advantage here.... but it never is... it is always the same guy/girl... the Kriss user.
And why is it that 90% of the time the Kriss user has the female character model???
For me, the Scar is not the noob tube, the Kriss is. And the combination of Kriss and Female character model is most noob of all possibilities. It is the dominatrix wannabe playing out their fantasy.

Approved. Although I think that Thompson became more of a noobgun than Kriss. There is a lot of discussion about so called 'noob tubes'... often with the Scar light (skill lite) coming at the receiving end of harassment...

I disagree. The Scar light has a tight spray pattern, high accuracy, high damage and good wall bang power. Overused by so many god damn people makes it a noob cannon. Kriss is just bad. Thompson is bad.WillofG4wd wrote: »Yeah, the tommy and kriss and all those powerful SMGs with fast ROF pwn in tdm
I wreck domes with the K2. Slow as god fire rate but everything else makes up for the ROF. -

I guess this is a fair enough counter argument by itself. Personally I have not bought ZP and added to the coffers of the developers, but I really do support giving players who do an advantage, even if it is just a small one (such as armour). But still... Kriss just seems a little too overpowered. Tommy is ok in my opinion. Giving ZP purchasers an advantage is fair enough... but a weapon which overpowers an entire team on occasion... maybe a little too far. -

Cat- is right.
And the k2 is a pretty nice gun. I got as many headshots as scarl with it,and i really enjoyed playing with it from crates. Very underated gun. -

kriss is an good gun at short range and its still ok for mid range . But its not an all-powerfull gun. Its not harder to kill a kriss user than a m4 user , just give headshots. -
When i use the kriss, i unbalance the game? Since when..
Yea some guns are bigger than others, but it depends on whose holding the stick that make it what it is.
I just mean on small maps, but yeah - you are right... 'it depends on whose holding the stick'. I don't seem to notice Kriss users when they are not pro, but when they are.... on small maps they can sometimes be a nightmare (when your team is pushed back into the base for instance)... Just seems to stand out a little more than other weapons to me... but I suppose you pay over long range.
What about the P90? In over 500 games I have only seen 1 player who has actually used it well. Anyone else agree that it could use a little boost?
