New grenade idea.
I thought this was a cool idea:
An EMP grenade, which has about a 30-60 ft. radius, that when exploded, anyone within the radius loses their Heads Up Display for about 10-20 seconds, depending on how close to the blast they are.
Noob language:
this means if you are inside the explosion, all you can see is your gun, and the map. No cross hairs, no radar, no health/ammo showing. just your gun, and the rest of the map.
OPTIONAL FEATURE
I thought another cool way for this to go off, was that once the person throws the grenade, they don't switch back to their weapon. A detonator comes in place of the grenade.
The person can still switch to their weapon mind you, but the bomb won't go off until they switch back and detonate it.
An off-topic thing I just realized:
I was looking at some stuff today, and I noticed, that in-game, if you look at the bottom of a smoke grenade, you see the popcorn symbol. ;P TRUE STORY!
EDIT
I know, and before you guys all go "This is a modern game! No futuristic weapons!" Listen: They actually have these kinds of grenades that are mainly used for scrambling radio frequencies. that could be another part of it. you cant hear the radio messages like "A site." And since there's no HUD, there's no chat either, so the only way for a person to hear the radio messages is to be near the person who says "A site!" or whatever.

Dude, why not instead of a nade with a detonater they [CM]FallenAngel or someone else
use C2. C2 is basicly the cousin of the C4 but its a smaller blast ment for like a stalling tactic for a quick getaway. Also I want to know if they will be putting up more GP guns and also can someone ask one [CM]FallenAngel to put like a mine in the arsenal of guns and weapons, like Combat Arms. -

They already said that they weren't implementing anything like mines. -

well, not everyone uses ventrilo, and not everyone CAN use it, like you. some have lower end pc's that cant support vent and CF at the same time. and besides, ventrilo wasn't even ment to be used in CF. so actually, the block radio / chat is kinda GONNA STAY.Seems pointless to have a flashbang if these exist.
And it can't block Ventrilo. So the block radio / chat is kinda useless in any serious situation.
And no it isnt pointless to have a flashbang, because you can still see and hear. just no HUD. so if some people were really good with the throw of a grenade, and they like to be a flash noob in M.M., then they could make it so that no one can see, hear, OR use the radar to see dots disappear indicating mutants, by lobbing an E.M.P. AND a flashbang. -
A flashbang blocks you from seeing everything but for a shorter time. This, will just screw up a little your aiming, but you still can fight off pretty good.Seems pointless to have a flashbang if these exist.

Wow, calm down. It's not even close to being reality.well, not everyone uses ventrilo, and not everyone CAN use it, like you. some have lower end pc's that cant support vent and CF at the same time. and besides, ventrilo wasn't even ment to be used in CF. so actually, the block radio / chat is kinda GONNA STAY.

"Ventrilo wasn't even ment to be used in CF" So you're actually not supposed to be allowed to use voice clients? I said in my post it won't be useful in any serious situation. If you are in a serious scrim in a tournie or a random one in the clan server, it's unlikely the S5 of the other team will not be using a voice client.
I read it abit more. I've never gotten ft and m measurements ingame. How exactly do you measure this? If the explosion is large, losing your CROSSHAIR, health count, & ammo count for 20 seconds seems ridiculous (as CF is rather fast-paced). Though for snipers, quick-scoping and stuff might give them interesting results without a crosshair. -
well, it was just an idea that popped into my head, and the radius and time of shock are just examples, and could be changed easily. And besides, if you made a poll more blikely than not there's gonna me more who don't rather than do. Mainly the people who use ventrilo are people in clans that have huge numbers.

anyways, (still trying to keep this post alive) I was thinking that this grenade would also affect people on your team like most grenades, but instead of theirs just disappearing, it starts blinking. looking like it's shortin' out kinda thing.
@everyone who keeps relating this kinda thing to COD.. STOP! JUST STOP! go and play COD and stop nagging about on here. This is a thread about an EMP grenade. Not a sticky grenade, stun, grenade, or throwing knife! NOTHING except an EMP grenade. -
Shhhhhh. Go play CoD. This isn't going to be put in the game just because a few baddies say "oh yea we need that good job!". Please go stink up Xbox Live with your bad ideas and terrible points of view. Better yet, go tell your mom, and get the sh1t slapped out of you for "being too violent". If you really think this would be a good idea for a simplistic free first-person-shooter game, get real.

:P found this old thread by me, and decided to give it a little bump.
and anyway, I'm pretty sure that if the community likes it, we could get this in CF. other suggestions have made it into the game, like Talonblaze's DSR-1!
Another idea for the nade, instead of everything completely disappearing, it could be all staticky, making it just completely useless, instead of just not there. (but the crosshairs would still dissapear.)
