fps

I run a rather high end comp (1300$) and i can play TES 4 Oblivion with 1440*900 with all effects on high and 4xAA without lag and i average 3-400fps in cf, but as soon as i start recording i get like 10-15 fps. and it doesnt seem like others fps get so madly effected when recording. u know what i can do?

  • If there's no other solution, you just have to record in lower quality. For example, if you use Fraps then record half-screen.
  • hrmmmm
CF is HORRIBly under optimized... alot of cpu and gpu get used for as far as i can tell no reason other then the devs cant code, which would explain why they are working on a free to play game.

i use Growler at 30 fps and 800x600 res when i record and suffer only a 5 fps drop.

  • Well.

My desktop screen res is also 1440x900. But I use 1078x800 because I feel the reg is by far much better (It's also how I play in CS) And in regards to recording while playing, When I run fraps I run it at full size BUT you have to lower the FPS it records at. My PC runs CF at max frames and I record at about 50fps. My frames drop a tad but I still get reg and its playable so I get good footage.
