It is supposed to make is smoother and be able to grasp everything more with more resolution. If you want more fps you want to look into getting a new processor because crossfire is a very processor dependent game. But I guarantee with that video card you will not go below it. It will make it stable. Anything above 60 is unreadable to the human eye anyways...

o.O!!!!! 100$!!!! You are kidding right?! For this money you can get something way more powerfull!
- it's a LOW end video card NOT suitable for games! It should be enough for CF however.
- your CPU and RAM is also to be considered
- I bet the card has the slower DDR2 RAM
CF seems to have some issues when it comes to FPS. Many people say they got 200+ FPS but I get 80-120+. And I run almost every game at 1920x1080 FULL MAXED. Maybe it is because of my ATi video. I noticed that others have nVIDIA cards. Maybe a driver thingie IDK. -

4GB of Ram is better then most these days. 4Gb will get you on Call of Duty's Level, however the video card is rather trash. -
Man I wish I had 4GB Ram, Id be all set for the next 2 years of gaming, but I can run MW2 perfectly with my 1GB Ram

It really depends on what your running in the background, exit out everything thats useless, disable your start up programs, defrag like once a month (Defraging for me makes no difference for me -.-) -
U've considered doing an OC? If u will good programs are:
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ - Heat measuring
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ - Stability test
http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner - the OC program
I doubled my fps with OC'ing an 9600GT -
$100 for a 9400GT?
You can get it for $60...., you got ripped I guess.
9400GT is more of a low end card, and is considerably worse than 9600GT.
Cross Fire is more dependent on CPU than GPU(According to one of our MODs), the higher the clock speed of the CPU, the higher the FPS you can squeeze out of your GPU.
You may want to return your GFX card and consider getting a 9600GT(one of the best cards ever)
Thing is though, you might need a PSU upgrade if you want to put 9600GT, as it requires additional power supply. -

i get 140fps ISH with a nvidia 512mb 8600gts (the 600 are always awesome with nvidia get a 260 lol )
its not your gcard thats the problem then
edit :1984 (yeah wacked ram)
core 2 duo 2.66ghz -
my specs
2.8Ghz dual core intel processor
1 GB ram
ATI X300 (VERY old like 2003-04)
randomly hit 30 FPS sometimes but usually i get 60 constant and 120 tops when everything is smooth
avg though i get 70-80
sounds like
1: your OS is a 32-bit so your not getting you full 4GB ram
&
2:your processor is running at a low speed.
(i could guarantee that if you would have bought a processor instead youd have better FPS) -

that is so fail man.......i have an HP DV7 "17 inch" laptop with 2x 2.4 ghz Athlon ultra processor and 8 gb ddr2 ram and an " ATI HD 4650 with 1gb DDR3 ( idk why this laptop has ddr3 graphics but it does, bc ati hd 4650 only supposed to have ddr2 ram )" and i get around 250-300 fps in a 1v1 room.....3v3 about 200, 8v8 about 120-200.....................and remember this is a freaking LAPTOP, not even a desktop.......and it runs Crossfire like its nothing.............so i would get a laptop..............trust me, u wont be disappointed...............btw the ATI HD 4650 is $100 but i dont know how much it would be
with the DDR3 ram so have fun...........btw u got ripped off with that graphics card u bought for $100 man -

your kidding right.... it dosent work like that yes our eye can only see around 29 frames per second.... but our eytes are not sync'd with the flashing of the fps and flashing of monitor ( if old) the higher the fps the more frames there are for you to see.. and actually.. when u looking at a small screen right infront of you... you actually see higher fps.. more around 40-50.. because its less work for your brain to do trust me u allways see a diffrence in fps all the way up to 400....
i can hit 400 fps average around 230-290 fps... but can drop down to 90 and below when im doin stuff at same time.... and i bet everyone who gets this kind of fps will say the same...
it gets less choppy andf more smooth motion as the fps got higher around 290+ u dont see much more diffreence till around 390-410.. then it gets super smooth...
anyways
