  • You haven't received an answer yet because we are unsure of what is specifically causing the problem.

Xtrap timing out usually has to do with internet connecting stability but could also be many factors.

Considering there are thousands of others online right now without this problem it becomes that much harder to track it down.

Have you tried disabling your firewall and anti virus?

What other programs are you running when you try to run cross fire?
  • exactly like Mr S said it is indeed a many number of factors there is a possability anything you have downloaded and installed has a auto run on it meaning it will start when you turn on your computer theres things could be linked to the internet doing certain things of course not everything shows up on screen, they are mostly hidden inside your process window best way to check for this is to download

    CCleaner
    http://www.ccleaner.com/

this is completly free and has no viruses or malware what so ever, after installing this
    1. open it up (also tells you the specs of your comps ram, OS + service pack, and graphics card ^_^)
    2. click "Tools" then "Start Up"

all things in the start up are process that start up with your computer that are not part of the main OS start up features

this clearly defines what has been installed and will start up with your computer

of course if you have a wireless mouse/keyboard or both because not to turn off the start up process's for them otherwise you will have to put in a USB/PS2 keyboard + mouse to start up the process's again
  • if ur using mc av
    http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=43882

    if your using AVG (FTW)
    1. click tools then advanced settings
    2. go down the list on the left and look for "Resident Shield"
    3. click "Directory Excludes" then "Add Path"
    4. find your cf folder and click ok
    5. click apply then ok and your all done

thats so you dont have to disable AVG to play then re-enable it after playing it
