Long Range vs Short Range?

Hi forum cruisers, so yesterday I replaced my M4(First gun I bought, tears shed) with an XM8, I'm doing great with it, but now I want another primary for my second bag. I can't decide between a Sniper or a Close-quarters gun. I might buy another bag is nessisary, and am willing to spend a fair amount of money on a gun, but would rather not. Here are my choices:
Drag-Preferred look over AWM's, fires more than 2x the speed of the AWM.
AWM-One-shot kills, slow fire rate though, that bugs me. Kinda nooby.
MP5-Good gun, very fast reload, lots of ammo. Adv version too expensive
MP7-Best SMG, second to Kriss, need to buy extra ammo, prefer not to.
Kriss-Not anytime soon.
M60-TANK, but heavy so moving in GM and MM is very dangerous. Reload isn't a problem.
G36-Nice hybrid, but very long range would be a little challenging.
FAMAS-Not bad at CQC, but extra ammo needed, but extra ammo would work on XM8 too.
Well, these are ALL my choices, any others will not be considered. If any of you own any of these please tell me what you think, but be specific and make sure to include the guns' flaws too.

If you are a good sniper i would say AWM but if you suk at sniping i would say g36k for long range and short range mp5 is good but only for tdm

id say a awm but wait till you can get awm/deagle. my suggestion is do playspan surveys or buy zp for the 90k gp to get both.

Are you going to try to play somewhat competitive? Like as competitive as scrimming goes?

Pretty much there's rifling and sniping when it gets harder. Not much SMG or MG.

You want an AWM, not a Drag. Not having to aim as perfectly will pay off.

Get a secondary with it, DEagle.

I suggest trying out the AK (read MalteGR's guide, of course).

Why do you say MP7 is the best SMG? I strongly disagree due to its inaccuracy. Better off with G36K (thats actually light rifle) or the mp5.

It depends on what you want to do- the XM8 can do almost anything. I would suggest you get the mp7 and guard your sniper buddies-they will love you for it.

Since you already have a sprayer, you should get a sniper. AWM is the best in my opinion.

go w/ the dragonuv, i fricken love that thing, perfect quickscopes and very accurate, less recoil then awm, and its a 1 shot kill to the face/stomache. do the server a favor and switch it up a bit
