Spin Off Post: CF Snobs
This is a spinoff from the KDR post earlier. I was reading that thread and was a little surprised by the elitist attitude from some of the other players. Anyway here's the reply I made in that thread, I thought it might merit it's own discussion. Aight, read it and disagree (or support it).
I never realized there were so many CF snobs on this board.
First off yes a KDR does mean something in the game, if you think it does'nt try applying to one of the better clans with a low KDR. The correct statement is that a KDR does'nt mean "everything" in CF, but it definitely plays a factor.
Second I'm tired of hearing people dump on Pub and TDM players. I play a lot of those matches (obviously, since I'm defending it) and while it's true you get a lot of noobs in those rooms you also encounter a lot of skilled players there as well. While scrims are a good tactical part of the CF experience that does'nt mean other modes of the game are lesser. You can find high levels of skill in any area of CF if you look. A highly skilled TDM player has to have quick reflexes, the ability to react quickly in hot situations and a good aim. You can dispute this if you want, but trust me you won't achieve a good score in TDM matches against other good players if you believe you don't need skill

hmmmm... as long as a player does not farm and is legit.. and as long as they play a consistent mix of various skill lvl players. their overall kdr is a good indicator of their skill lvl.. and i find it hard to see how any one could possible argue otherwise... (PLEASE PLEASE ARGUE THAT a number that illustrates your ability to kill, and avoid being killed
has no bearing on your skill lvl PLEASE.) and as to pub vs scrim, my scrim kdr is only slightly lower then my pub kdr. and mainly only because i have played far fewer scrims then pub matches....
tdm relies on reaction time and aim. but not so much tactics. i like tdm tho, keeps your reflexes good.
and yes their are alot of snobs in the forums. its easier for them to dismiss some ones view or
ideas with a one line post/insult then it is for their little brains to argue against it. -

So me not having a good KD do too A) Killing myself over and over while trying to teach people how to glitch properly and
Going into SnD pubs in A7 and knifing only meanis you can safely assume I'm not a good player?
xD
Too many variables for KD to be effective, you're stupid if you think it is. -
Me too broski. I hate when people dump on me all the time.
lol'd
KD means nothing to me. Its simply a bunch of numbers for people to nerd out about. I go into pubs simply to mess around. I scrim on the clan server and if the other team is bad then I just go afk or I leave. If people want to go off my K/D and underestimate me, then good. -

Oh jeez, Bruce talking bout nerds. 2012 is coming. -
I generally agree with your posts. I'm a pub player exclusively. The only mode I would consider myself acceptable to play in tournaments would be ghost mode. But in tdm you find a lot of damn good players. I ran into a player who could AK one shot like a champ. It was amazing. He was across the map and before I could see where he was two of my rushing companion's helmets went flying.
You'll always have people hating, but if you don't have haters then you aren't doing your job.
