if your good ant single shotting get the aug all the way, high fire rate when not zoomed in, the m4 i would prefer over the k2 cause i dun use k2 much. the m4 i know is much better at med range cause of a high stablitly (aug dun have high), but they both do dun have to much recoil

My choice would be K2 as I'm more in T.D. and N.M. than SnD. The polyvalency of the M4 is good, but honestly this gun makes me feel like... It's just not enough. The Steyr... Well that's one complicated basta'rd. And it's reload will get you killed pretty fast.

Actually, I think the K2 is better for S&D, esp the bigger maps.
M4 is better for smaller areas such as TD with the spray/automatic.
Both have different advantages in GM.
I would recommend you try out the guns yourself in Alaska to see which one you like best.
