White walls or white anything is something commonly found in games where the texture files for the mesh or wireframe can't be found to be loaded. Most likely your problem came from Alt+Tab out of the game to check something (vent, skype, ect) and when you went back to the game the file could not be found in a timely manner, so the game defaults to rendering some objects as white (skinless). Occasionally when a computer is running low on resorces or RAMor if you have a slow computer, it will stop processing some scripts when you minimize your game and forget to start them up when you bring the game back to the front.
Most programmed games show objects as white or invisible when the texture cannot be found/loaded. In "hack" programs all is done is the location of the texture files are rewritten, thus turning the walls white, transparent, wireframe ect.
