to the average rookie noob the ak 47 is indeed a "suckish" gun but to a seasoned veteran, it is a very good gun to burst fire at long ranges, the undisputed king of closequarter combat, and a very good gun for headshots, overall a nice gun that i would get rather then a m4

Both the AK47 and the M4A1 are great choices for a rifle. It depends on what you want out of the weapon.
The AK47 is a great rushing gun. Basic term "mowing the yard" can be used for this gun. It as extremely high damage, especially at close range. If you get in an up-close fight, usually the AK47 will be the winner. The only con really to the AK is the high amount of recoil. It is definitely not a beginner's weapon. Only through practice can you get used to the kick and spray pattern. If you can master it, it may very well be the best rifle in the game.
The M4A1 is an excellent all-around assault rifle. It is effective up-close or at a good range. It has considerably less recoil than the AK, therefore easier to control. It has been said that beginners and pros alike use the M4 for its versatility as an all-around weapon. If you want user friendly, easy to control and a great starter weapon or a great expert weapon the M4 is the way to go.
My personal choice is the M4. I prefer control over power. Especially when shooting at a distance. Again, it all depends on your skills, strengths, and weaknesses. I hope this helps. Good luck. -

get steyr aug
has scope, bad dmg but not tht bad and the speed of the shooting makes up the bad dmg. little recoil nd also 1 hit ko in head so aug is pretty gud. i have aug camo from gp cretes and i love it :P but very slow in reload
Are you freaking kidding me kid!? the aug sucks bad nuts... And By the way every gun in the game besides the uzi i think has a one headshot kill feature its totally standard. I think the AUG spray is all weird and i dont like it i bought it and sold it a day later.
But in regards to the first question... how bout both? I switch between my ak silver and my normal m4... M4 is a nice long range headshot weapon. Ak is more for close quarters because of the recoil but both are great in their own ways. Its sort of a personal preference... -

aug isn't even a 1shot hs anymore. The regualr aug does 98 for a hs. The camo does 100dmg for hs though. I bough ak when I started and realized oh shoot I can't hit anything and I sold it for an SG....Now I ended up buying it again but I would recommend playing with m4 its solid no matter your experience.
