  • Mertesacker is way too slow to handle either Messi, Tevez, Higuain, or Aguero.
I'm doubting Lahm, Friedrich, and Boateng's ability to pocket any of those players too ;)
Though tbh, if they can utilise Lahm down the left, they could get some decent breaks down arguable Argentina's weaker side.

Mascherano SHOULD be able to boss the centre of midfield, providing Argie can also use their width and get the ball to Angel di Maria and Maxi.

But you're right, aside from the presence of Samuel, they're severely lacking at the back. Suppose that's partly Maradona's fault for the exclusion of Javier Zanetti (despite seeing fit to bring pointless Veron, and equally bad Gutierrez), which in turn limits Maxi's ability to perform on the right too :\

The main dangers for Germany are obviously Ozil and Klose, but I reckon the experience of Samuel, Heinze, and Burdisso, can overcome the youthful and often inexperienced Germany frontline. Therefore Klose/Cacau could become key figures for Germany, if that'd be the way the match is going.

    I predict, 3-1 to Argentina.

yeah, friedrich is pretty rubbish aswell. It would be better if Boateng played his better centre half and play Badstuber on left back again. I did put their backs into consideration, but i think Neuer will play a blinder. Schweingsteiger will have to be top notch again when Messi drops deep since i dont think he's going to get much luck out of Lahm. I think Tevez is the main danger for the game, when Germany get the ball deep in midfield or the german defense he'll be hassling them, not giving them time on the ball and again i think Mertesacker will slip up.

BUT: As bad as the German defence can be,the Argies are definetely worst. Podolski vs Gutierriez/Otamendi is a complete mismatch and Klose vs Demichielles will be easily won by Klose. Also,Muller should be strong and fast enough to take on Heinze.
-The main danger as always for Germany I think will be Ozil. Maradona is sure to have told Mascherano to be tracking his runs, but Mascherano is found ball watching a good bit. He's better at tackling and interceptions.

Should be a cracker anyway, plent of goals.

It's a shame Buffon got injured, great player.
  • btw , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQQVuQD3120&feature=player_embedded#!

It was offside, but the decision is correct, a linesman can't be sure about a 22cm offside, and the rules of the game states that the attacking team should be given the advantage is there is reasonable doubt.
  • Fk this world cup,

    South Korea out, USA out.

Mexico lost too, not that I really care. And the Japan game today was a heart stopper. Down to penalty kicks, was intense.

    Germany is my only hope.

I might watch more soccer on TV when it starts broadcasting in 3D ...
Hate it when you don't know where the ball is flying to until it hits something =p

    This. :p
  • David Silva's gone to Manchester City for an undisclosed fee, thoughts?

Also Bruce, it's probably a good idea to find a club to support, as it'll only encourage you more to become involved :)
(I'd recommend Wolves, but anything other than Bolton will do ;))
  • I'm American, we don't have clubs out here, we have MLS. :<

I think Germany^^^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because I´m from germany !!!!!!!!! and on saturday plays germany vs. argentinia ! I think 2:1 for germany !!!!
  • I'm American, we don't have clubs out here, we have MLS. :<

LA Galaxy, Kansas Wizards, DC United. Some decent clubs right there :p

You could always support an English Premier League team, Chelsea would be cool, but most people support Arsenal or Manchester United.

Meh, that's nothing compared to Bolton signing Robbie Blake for free from Burnley.

    Honest opinions?
Bye bye Bellamy or bye bye Adam Johnson? ;)

    He's saying that he'd recommend Wolves cos he's a Wolves fan. I'm a Bolton fan. :D

Find a club to support with a good reason why to support them. "Cos they're good." isn't a good reason. xD
Your local club is always a good way to start off, go down to a few games. :)

Oh damn, yours must be singing of the season already ;)
We badly need some defenders, give us Cahill pweeze.

I reckon they'll both stay, unless Mark Hughes takes over a decent club (maybe Fulham) then Bellamy would probably follow him.

Local clubs are always the best to support ^_^ you'll feel a sense of pride when they beat the big teams.... Don't bother asking Lagging what that feels like though ;) *badum dum cshhh* moohahar

Johnson'll stay wide right, put Silva wide left, Bellamy for sale, possibly to Cardiff
*cough* Martin Petrov for free *cough*

Remember a few seasons ago when we beat Arsenal 3-1? :D oh.. you weren't in the premier league then, my bad. ;) Beat Liverpool and came a minute away from doing the double over Utd in the same season. I love you Allardyce. <3 xD

Cardiff are in debt so he'd have to take a hugeass wage cut :p
Petrov went bad after his first decent season, but meh not a big fan of him.
My sister supports Bolton, so I'm used to teasing her on these things :D

Nuuuu I bet they weren't trying or something or they felt sorry for big Sam ^_^
We're here to stay now baby!! Stephen Hunt was a great signing, but Steven Fletcher.... £6.5m..... M'kay xD

Fletcher'll be okay if we have penalties, let me think how many we got last year... 2 xD
Doyle's far too honest, he never goes down when he could.

Davies, that old bugger? :p still, gotta love his work rate :D
Or do you mean that traitor Mark Davies? He's such a **** btw, hate him.
