XTrap patch vs IE 7.0 or 8.0

Dear Sir,

Since the patch of XTrap and I couldn't play the game til i found in forums 1 guy informing that if you're using Windows XP 64bit you MUST uninstall Internet Explorer 8.0 or 7.0 and get it back to ver. 6.0 so you can play Crossfire. unfortunately he was right i had to uninstall my IE upgrade and turn it back to the old version 6.0 to play the game.. So I'm asking is there any possible way to install IE 8.0 back again & still be able to play the game?

I'm using Windows XP 64Bit SP2

Best Regards,

I don't know there was a weird connection between IE 7.0 & 8.0 and the loading of the Xtrap if you have this versions of IE my Xtrap never continue opening the game and hang. but since i listened to the guy in forums like alot of people did as me and to uninstall IE 7.0 or 8.0 Xtrap start to boot normally as charm. that's it

Well, when I installed the game when the Xtrap patch poped up i was having already IE 8.0 but later when i turned back to IE 6.0 few weeks later my Windows Update installed IE 8.0 again automatically then i realized the games doesn't work & the Xtrap stopping the boot of the game. so i figured out the same old problem so i had again to uninstall IE 8.0 to be able to play Crossfire
  • Thanks for the information.

This shouldn't be the solution, but if it works for now then it's a good one.

We will look into this compatibility problem and look for a fix in future xtrap patches.
