AVG Detects a False Positive

Hello Cross Fire Gamers!

Currently AVG is picking up some of our xtrap files as viruses. This is a FALSE POSITIVE.

AVG and other free scanners pick up on some of these xtrap files because of how they work. They are NOT VIRUSES.

You can disable AVG or the other free scanners to play Cross Fire. Don't forget to re-enable them when you exit CF to be properly protected.

Adding the files to the exceptions lists for your virus scanners may also work so that your virus scanner may continue running.

Don't forget that quarantining or "fixing" these false positive files may result you not being able to play the game. If this happens you may be required to uninstall the game and download and install a new copy.


We are in contact with Xtrap and AVG so we can get a compatible version of xtrap working for most customers. Please be patient while this happens.
