White noise when in game, not during pregame menu, etc.

I get this weird noise while I'm playing a game, and the noise changes pitch and intensity when I face different directions. I don't know how other to describe it than white noise...

I've tried multiple headphones and reinstalled soundcard drivers and software...anyone else encounter this?

Could be a soundcard getting interference from another device close by. Are you able to test using either onboard sound, or another card?
