Ping
Why the hell am I still lagging? After being inactive-ish, I came back and I still have 50 ping and randomly spike every time. Fix these garbage servers...
And no, it's not my internet, I've been playing other online games and my ping is still the same, yet in CF my ping got higher and I only spike every 10 - 20 seconds...
And NOOOOOOOO, I wont send a ticket about it. Y'all know support is a joke...

My ping increased last year's Halloween patch, but now it increased EVEN more... -

Probably is your internet and for sure you should send a support ticket XDD im joking...Anyway i got the same problem those days, i keep restarting my wifi always. On ts my ping usually is 48 and i had always the same ping in game too. Now my ping is more than 80...Also yesterday and today there where many laggers, all teleported like they had 1k =/ -

Nah, im not spiking but my ping has risen. But whats bothering me more is the horrible tickrate. Its almost 2017 z8, please upgrade. The current servers are slow and obviously not stable. The tickrate is essential for any FPS.
A server in Egypt would probably be better than having these servers here in Canada...FrozenPizza[ wrote: »My ping is always either 30 or 50. If I start the game with 50, it doesn't go down to 30, if I start with 30, it doesn't go up to 50.
It's really weird. 50 ping is still pretty nice though so idc.
That used to happen to me in UK lmao, but not anymore... And no, 50 is not good. The only thing I do in this game now that it's dead, is snipe in HMX, and I feel the difference, also my ping shows 50, but sometimes it takes around 1-2 secs to switch weapons... -
This is like my 4th thread... All of them ignored...Well you know how it is on the forums ;D My ping increased last year's Halloween patch, but now it increased EVEN more...Mine used to be 50-55 , Increased to 75 and after the crashes it's more than 80 , some of my clan members as well have the same latency problem. So definitely it's not your own problem.

Same here, is almost a month that i lag badly...BrandyIncubo wrote: »Probably is your internet and for sure you should send a support ticket XDD im joking...Anyway i got the same problem those days, i keep restarting my wifi always. On ts my ping usually is 48 and i had always the same ping in game too. Our teamspeak server (we are in the same teamspeak) is located in Germany.
My ping in teamspeak is 53-55 ms
The ping on Crossfire usually was ±2 than this on teamspeak.
This month 66ms was the best that i had so far
Most times now i play with 76-80ms ping

Ping can be a number of issues related to a bunch of things that have been discussed before. To basically sum up what I personally imagine it is though, is the following:
When you connect to the game you are not connecting directly to the server. Only we have that ability, which is why we have super low ping. You connect through a bunch of other 'stops' along the way. Think of it like driving a car. You stop to get gas every little while on your trip on the way to the CF server. If any of the gas stations on the way have a LOT of people using them, you have to wait in line at the gas station, right?
If any of the servers you are routing through have a lot of people using them, have issues of their own, or are dropping connections slightly, this can cause a bit of lag. Now add in the fact that you have a bunch of gas stations that you have to stop at, and it can make a long, slow trip. Obviously this happens MUCH faster in our case because its information instead, but it can still make a noticeable difference when the time between your pc and the final server is measured as your 'ping'. -

ikr? I actually sent a ticket complaining about it and this is what they told me:
'Hello,
Thank you for contacting Z8Games Support Center.
There are several factors that can affect your ping/latency, such as heavy internet traffic at the time, distance between your computer and our servers, congested routers, and inadequate bandwidth.
Currently, our servers are located in North America and Western Europe. This means that the further you are from the server locations, the more likely that you can experience latency increase.
Latency/ping cannot be tweaked by the end user except if you have software on your computer that is affecting your latency. Therefore, there is no way for Z8Games Support to accurately determine what the cause of your latency increase is.
Please consult with your Internet Service Provider if anything has been changed in your internet settings and the traffic in your area. Also, some users reported a decrease in latency after updating graphic card drivers and lowering their graphic settings.
We thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Regards,
Z8Games Support.'
So basically, they blame it on you, even though its obvious the problem relies on their outdated servers, and I know this because a) my ping used to be 80-100ms like two years ago b) my teamspeak ping is around 100ms and c) in other games I'm around 70-80ms ping[GM]Kanadian wrote: »Ping can be a number of issues related to a bunch of things that have been discussed before. ahh update gas stations so they become suitable for current amount of users? -

I completely agree. However, we don't actually control the various server nodes that you are passing through to get from your location, through your provider, from your country, to our servers sadly Otherwise we could update all the things and everyone would have 1 ping. Unfortunately this isn't a perfect world where we own those nodes. -

That explains why my ping is always fine when it's super late (past midnight till dawn) and why i get so laggy during midday. -
