No, that's not true. CF and CF 2 are different games.

TBH we technically could.. because if most/all of us jumped to CF2, they would have no reason to keep this one alive.. so it could shutdown. Tho, if this game still has a fair number of community players around by then, it might just survive.

Too early to worry now.. just worry when 2018 is around the corner.

2 and 2.0 are not the same thing.
Plenty of other games had sequels and originals run simultaneously.
There shouldn't be any reason a different game will mess up our exp / guns.
