Confusing Bans?
A friend of mine has recently gotten banned for "hacking", here's the confusing part he was not hacking.
Some background on my friend: decent player, 7+ year old account, active (until recently obviously), spent a crap ton of money on his account and would never hack even if he had access to one.
What happened: about a week ago he was playing normally and went A.F.K. while he was A.F.K. he had some spun some crates using auto spin. He had won a crap load of guns during this time, however just a moment later he was logged out and when he tried to log back in he was met with this message
Obviously he was pretty shocked, but this was a Friday and he knew very well that he wouldn't receive an answer until Monday when the staff get back. Patiently waiting for a response, Monday came:
From what we could deduce from this was that this was clearly either a mistake or a client side error, it only made us more confused. After looking at his account's profile we can see that he still has the Honorable Soldiers Ribbon, so it started to make more sense that it was some kind of glitch. Being curious to find out what is going on, since he still couldn't log in we send another ticket and...
Now this is completely bullcrap. How did it go from we don't know what happened to your account to no we purposely banned you for a hacking violation?? In less than 24 hours.... This made no sense.
After this there was continuous back and fourth between my friend and support, until they said their word is final and they will not undo the "permanent ban".
So why is it that he still has the Honorable Soldiers Ribbon? All these automated messages, as if we're not talking to real people. There's something really weird about this ban & it has gotten me scared that I could lose my account that I've spent a lot of money on for no reason at any time.
Before anyone says "send another ticket no one can help you here", no that's not the case anymore. They've abandoned trying to help, they are not even listening to anything he has to say or showing any evidence why this ban happened in the first place.
The whole situation is confusing and I doubt "support" even has a clue on what is going on. There has been other instances where they gotten things wrong... It's really sad.
I can guarantee you my mate has never hacked ever, I was just wondering if someone had similar issues & if so are there any solutions?

Does he have access to a different computer that can download Crossfire? Tell him to log onto his account from there and see if it works.
If i remember correctly, another forum Im_A_Flip also got "permanently banned" but support told him he wasn't banned. When he tried to log into the same account from a different computer. he was able to and he wasn't banned.
CF's dumb sometimes -

I wouldn't be surprised. Support staff has probably changed over the years and we have less experienced people handing out bans. Chances are that ban will not be removed. You cant reason with these people. I got a permanent ban for "post farming" which isn't even against the rules, nor is it the same as spamming. Then you have members like Exilled63, who are allowed to roam freely because of inactivity!
You should tell your friend to start cheating for real this time. -
What the more likely story is here, is that X-Trap banned your friend for using a program blocked by X-Trap, and the system to check that hadn't updated yet when he got the first ticket response. Afterwards, support staff would see the system updated, and tell him his punishment and why he got it.
And yes, unfortunately, I will give you the two usual responses for the forums: Nobody here can help you. Also, neither support staff nor GM's nor anyone else who works for CFNA can comment on anyones account except with that person. So your 'friend' will have to send the tickets.
