  • Hopefully, since its a major tournament, its double elim with every match being best of 3. Best of 1's are random and shouldn't be a deciding factor for who ends up competing in China.

A qualifier would be nice for the last two spots. PeekTeam6, deserves a shot since they went through pro on the second month and gained 2 points.. While RestrictZ and HARABAS top CFCL open this month. All these teams deserved the final spot but picking via Z8Games decision, I don't know about that. TriX definitely deserved that 7th spot. Us three teams tried to go to pro. All I'm just asking for is have a qualifier for that final spot or the last two spot. Since the whole NF will happen on Sunday, why not do a Last chance qualifiers for the last spot of NF. Thank you.

My team WCOA should also be included, we also agree with a last minute qualifier for us top open teams. Also PeekTeam6 is no longer, Tyler told me.

Apperantly OAF won't play for some reason Kappa... So there's still 1 more spot left I believe.. Hope it's yours..Also I haven't seen pt6 in a long time

Well if that's the case since we're second on open, can we take this spot?

  • Congrats to all teams. Would be dope to see restrictz or trix pull the upset and go to China. Gl everyone!
  • Let me explain again one last time:

    - The top 6 teams in terms of Pro points, along with 2 invited teams will be participating in the NF.

    - The 1st place will compete in CFS Grand Finals, the 2nd place will compete in WCA. No team will compete in both

    Emails have been sent today.

Who's going to be the 8th team? Since there are only 7 teams competing.

    Payments were sent as well?
  • CF NA gets an invite for WCA Tournament. Never placed better than 5th in a CFS Tournament ?

Meanwhile EU placing 2 times 4th and 1 time 2nd. CFGI 3rd place and no invite hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Seems legit WCA, like always.
  • Your post would be great if it weren't for, well, your entire post being flawed. CFS isn't WCA, and therefore the invites that WCA sends out are based upon a regions accomplishments in WCA tournaments. In this case, NA got 2nd at WCA and nearly beat China in a bo5 whereas Europe did very poorly. Going hand in hand with that, Europe has never beaten Carbon on LAN and in fact they went 0-6 vs Carbon at WCA. Logically there is 0 reason for WCA to invite a European team over a North American team given how last years WCA event unfolded. Also I could talk about how Europe has received wild-cards and insanely easy brackets into the finals in CFS, but I digress

XD CF NA never placed 2nd in any WCA tournament what are you talking about xD ? They placed 2nd in the CFS Invitational with 8 teams in brazil. Strictly seen EU is the best region right after the chinese teams. Anyways Im not flaming NA here, Im flaming the WCA org again. Inviting teams like CF Espagnol, they didnt even won 1 match on LAN in 2 Crossfire Stars tournaments.
It doesnt matter how much luck you had in the past tournaments, successes are just based on results, and EU definitely has the best after chinese. Do not exactly compare EU vs NA matches on Lan, this is not the point.

And btw, WCA is not the organisation which is inviting the teams, its Tencent, and Tencent normally inviting teams after CFS results. Even russian publisher laughed about the decision. (Remember, Im not flaming you guys)
  • Yea WCOA was the 3rd best open team, maybe there might be a little bo3 or something for the next spot I think that'd be amazing to have some
Teams compete for the final spot.

I doubt they will do this. I believe they want to save as much time as possible. But having seven teams on NF, ughh and 1 team having to advanced the semis right away and have a guaranteed bronze match. As I spoke to Kanadian, he/she said OAF won't be replaced by another team.

Alright, makes sense well thanks. GL to all open teams as for my ex team Genius Gaming/FakeoutNation my boys gonna take it home to china ;)
  • This is a reminder to all teams that you have to submit the information that was requested from you via Email in order to participate in the NF

I have a couple of questions (some of which I'd like to ask privately) but not everyone has a passport and it's almost impossible to get one within a week. Submitting all the other informations and forms should suffice until any team wins right?

Also for player photos should we wear a dark shirt to have contrast with the bright background (I only ask because the ladies team wore all black shirts)

Edit: @Grumpy Can I pm you or would you rather I send in a support ticket?

These are questions that can be asked/answered via ticket or by responding to the Emails that were sent out. However I will mention that its better to send as much info as you can than to send nothing at all because you're missing something.
  • I would also like to add that it is known that the winner of CFS will be travelling to China. Therefore I am not sure what is the plan for users who have no passports.

We have deadlines to submit the information as there a lot of things depend on it. And even if a team won the NF and didn't provide this information, we will be forced to send a different team if the winner are unable to do so.
  • Is there a rough estimate of when we could expect the brackets to be out?

Btw, CFNA placed 2nd to the #1 Chinese team last year in the CFS Invitational in Brazil..... and won 2 maps in the process. How many did EU win again against the same team? Oh yeah. Anyways, they are probably looking at WCA group stage points, and if you count just points Carbon was 4th in points overall even overall. They actually had more points than one of the winners of another group. They only lost to the Chinese team in their bracket and NA 10-0'd the EU teams last year.

Philippines most likely have the best results after the Chinese. They've placed 3rd a few times in events. Vietnam actually might even have more "reputation" in events than EU also.

If you want to count other international events, then NA has also gotten 2nd twice. Not to mention that most EU results come with a little "*" after them because they're always in lucky brackets. Getting knocked out in groups last year then getting wild card'd into the easy bracket. That one CFS year they got 4th by ONLY playing Espanol and Russia lol because they were in a group with only Espanol. SICK ONE. The good result EU has gotten was CFGI. That one was pretty good.
  • Are you forced to use the CFS Ak-47 on Sunday?
