Crossfire Game Engines
Now as we all know the crossfire graphics are only 1 stage up from minecraft however minecraft actually requires a lot more computing power to run. Before i start on my main point i thought i would just post the crossfire game minimum requirements:
COMPONENTS MINIMUM
Processor (CPU) Pentium 4 1.5GHz
Memory (RAM) 512MB RAM
Video Card GeForce 5600 or higher
Hard Drive Space 7.5 GB of free space
Operating System Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10
DirectX© DirectX© 9.0c
Internet Connection Cable/DSL
Now as you can see they are minimum requires to play this game, which is rather shocking if you break it down into components, ill go through the list to show exactly what i mean: Pentium 4 1.5ghz ( made in 2000) 512mb of RAM to put it into perspective most modern mobile phones run around 2GB of RAM, Geforce 5600 (made 2003).
Basically what im saying is that my mobile phone has about 4 times of everything that is required to play crossfire on a PC, this is very relevent as these requirements are starting to affect crossfire in a serious way and have been for awhile now. I have played with game since 2009 and there have been 0 graphic updates since that time.
Crossfire game engines are seriously out of date and this causes problems such as easy code writing for hackers, easier to glitch, less stable, poor player interfaces and all in all poor graphics which equals to a less pleasurable place to actually game. Now im not saying that graphics are majorly important to gameplay, however i am saying maybe z8games should employ more than 1 person to manage there game which so many people play. i will post an article from 2013 below which basically shows how they were planning on running unreal 3 engines: http://mmoculture.com/2013/12/crossfire-2-game-engine-reportedly-confirmed-for-in-development-sequel/ i just really think that its time z8games actually started caring about their players/contributors/employers/future and not their bank balance, because after all we employ them, we pay them we are their key to future success.

These requirements are out of date, however.
With all the additions having been made to the game, they've raised the requirement bar quite a bit.
And generally, you can't really suggest a new engine for a game which came out in the year of 2007-2008(?) and is subsequently almost 9 Years old.
The reason why they aim for such a low graphical margin is because they want to reach as many customers as possible. -

I do think this game needs a HUGE graphics overhaul with improved physics, textures and shaders but that wont happen ofcourse. They will just push out as much zp content as possible untill they dont make any profit anymore and then close down this game. I guess a huge overhaul would just be to risky. -
On the other hand the playsation 2 level of graphics
Fixed* Lets keep at least a foot down on the ground/reality shall we?
And to OP* Stay chill, your dear phone games dont event use 500mb of the precious RAM memory you have, apps are ram locked at 64-128mb or w/e so your phone having 2/3/4 GB of ram doesnt mean you can run games just like you do on your PC unless you get rid of the OS first. -

That might of been the main reason in 2006-2007 when CrossFire first lunched and was probably the main aim for Smilegate back then. But Smilegate needs to understand that players these days can run games on a much higher graphics settings especially if your targeting players from North America and the UK. So in order for them to attract more players in NA/UK, they need to upgrade their graphics settings otherwise, this game will keep on bringing in more players from 3rd world countries. And if this continues then there will fewer players from NA/UK. -

The graphics were already behind in like 2010.
You can say graphics dont matter all you want but that wont change the fact that most new players wont take this game seriously the first time they play. Or worse, wont even give it a chance. -

Unfortunately this. Seems to especially be an issue with FPS gamers in general...if the graphics aren't up to or at least close to current norms for recently released games then they turn away from it...meanwhile gameplay and story is completely over looked. Just look at the COD franchise....seriously not that fun and the storylines...if you can call them that...are lame and over in like 1hour. Yet...their graphics make NA FPS people blow their load in their pants.
It's a shame too because if CF were to update it's engine and thus graphical standards to even 2013 era I probably wouldn't be able to run it on this laptop from 2009 that I currently play CF from x]. But I don't think I'll have to worry about this as by the time this version of CF updated engine wise (don't think that'll happen) or a new higher end CF is made and this one phased out, i'll likely have a new PC or just flat out no longer care. -

The game needs a new engine. Point blank. But they'll cry saying it's not that easy. Well yea whenot no one that works for you has any real experience doing computer programming and you copy and paste all your patches. Oh plus they don't wanna lose all the money from the downtime. The whole company needs to be restructured. Other than the lack of experience with the technical side, I doubt any of them even have hardcore experience in development, or even gaming for that matter. Upgrading engines isn't hard if you invest in it. You guys just don't have the resources nor the ambition to actually make the game better. That's why they make it sound impossible and that's why it'll only get worse.

CrossFire uses the Lith-tech Jupiter EX engine. Which was released in 2005. Oddly, it has support for Havoc physics simulation and has a vehicle kit, The same physics engine that's in TES5 and Fallout 4 but Smilegate never made use of it. Kinda off topic but I though it was interesting enough to share.

EDIT:
The engine is still being used today for some titles by Monolith productions. Saying the engine is out of date is false. Smilegate isn't using the engine to its full potential and to improve on what they currently have they would have to re-write the entire game. -
