  • Great! Team Splice will definitely be participating!
  • I made a team but the logo is off center and I'd like to change it... but I can't leave or change the logo

Can you cancel the team or something so I can make a new one?

    It's REALLY annoying me :(
  • Is there a way to change the logo and stuff afterwards? I didn't have one in mind right so I thought I could put a temporary one for now, but I don't see anywhere for changes to be made :/
  • Is it only for NA and UK players ?

Or you need to have max 2 non NA/UK players per team like RTZ
  • This is nice. You should do what RTZ is doing with 3/5 of main 5 required to be from the NA / UK regions otherwise we'll just have full brazilian and european teams from other versions. Just my opinion. People will form new teams, depends on prizepool I guess and other stuff.

No, I deleted your team so you can submit a new one with the correct image
  • Team region (NA/UK) will determine the server and tournaments you can participate in.
  • Any team restrictions like max 2 non NA/UK or is this open? + would be helpful if there's est starting time etc so people can plan :)

    Thank you! Sorry about that

I don't think you understood the question.

The question is not about the "team region" that is just a label, we are talking about players that do NOT live in the NA or UK region ( e.g. Brasil, Germany, Russia, Zimbabwe). Are these players allowed to make a team and label it as "UK" and be able to participate?

aka will there be IP restrictions to ensure that only NA/UK players can play or everyone can play?

That moment you need to explain everything in absolute detail to get a proper answer xD

Good explanation, I pretty much meant this. RTZ make sure that 3/5 of players from the region have to be playing at all times, this allows for 2 players who have accounts here to join teams and play. It's a pretty important rule in my opinion, because these tournaments are for the NA/UK version and not for the EU version, the Russian version or Brazilian etc. The only way is to make restrictions, the majority rule is fair in my opinion and will allow new rosters to be formed but making it 5/5 UK for example would result in no teams unfortunately. Other tournaments in other games have used the majority rule as well. WCA for example stated that 60% of players playing (3/5) had to be from NA. For example (with no strict guidelines) an Egyptian team could sign up under the UK region when clearly the UK is 1 place in Europe and Egypt is Northern Africa. Also, as you know the UK is separate to the rest of Europe in terms of Cross Fire versions.
  • The new site for the competitive section looks good! I just hope it doesn't die after a couple of months or so.

Good luck to all teams who are taking part!
  • Can you delete teamw0w (michealdrk, Remy, fREAKAZOiD*, bigcoda)? Logo was off centered and wanted to fix it, thanks :)

    I deleted the team.

For everyone else, I understood your question, you didn't understand my answers. The regions when you are register a team are not for show. There will be a limitation on ping, but other than that the competitions are based on the servers.

For now, please proceed with team registration.
  • Basically means you can be from anywhere as long as you have an account here imo.If you stood with this version and have had an account made prior to IP/region restrictions, you have just as much right as anyone else to participate.Any new EU/RU/BR w/e other regions players wont be able to do anything since they cant create an account so they will have to play in their own versions of crossfire if they want to be in tournaments.

tl;dr: The upcoming tournaments are for everyone who plays this version.(up to a point: @limitation on ping)
  • ...................................................

Welcome professional EU teams such as flipside and penta.

GM Logic: Hey it doesn't matter if you're from another version, because you signed up over 5 years ago to this one before your new version came out! Even though the UK players have been provided with NO competition, and you've been playing ESL, CFS, WCA and continue to do so, you're still allowed to play competitions on a different version, even though the UK is blocked from all competitions you have.

@ GMS - You're trying to grow the game through Esports right?

EU players, that live outside of the UK cannot sign up anymore, it's been that way for 5 years. The only way to grow your player base is to either

    #1 Increase UK players
    or
#2 Lift restrictions on EU players

If you're not going to lift the restrictions which 100's of people have been saying over the years is the right thing to do, then concentrate on providing competitions for EU players on their version; and providing competition for UK players on this version. Without all of these double standards, allowing them to play in competitions here and not allowing UK over there. They already have ESL, CFS etc. It's the UK scene that needs to grow, EU players can't even sign up here anymore!

Your answers didn't seem to come from a person with any experience in the competitive scene at all.

    1) Ping has nothing to do with region, many players can get 2-3ms ping on NA servers while they are playing from North Africa with some VPN trick that I don't know.

    2) Would love to know how you will be able to distinguish a guy playing in Belgium ( belongs to CF EU ) from a guy playing in the UK JUST by looking at their pings.

    3) "Competitions are based on the servers" god knows what you mean.

    4) "For now, please proceed with team registration." Sure thing, I wish you know what you are doing and that there is an actual planning for the tournament.

Wow lol maybe show a little respect ? Damn he ain't your little brother lol
  • This is so funny, just tell us, will it be like RTZ where you require 3/5 off the team to be playing for Na or from the UK, not players who play eu or players who play Brazil, this is meant to be the servers for our players, ik u want as many teams playing but if you allow eu teams and Brazilian teams this will just be Brazil cf 2 and crossfire eu 2 please sort it out and give us some straight up answers. If you ask me you should have Kyle giving you help with this, clearly you guys don't understand what the community wants,
  • How about EU play in their own version? Not to sound rude but yall got your own version why are you coming to ours...

  • Z8games isn't providing competition on cf eu, instead for some reason they are placing no restrictions on them here. That's why professional old school from EU will play this. When it comes to competition it's a different story as players who are now professional teams on other versions, played on this version before theirs was published. if you're not making any restrictions other than ping, then what's to stop a UK player making them all accounts? There's ways around it asfaik. You'll be allowing any country even if they're on a VPN as long as they have similar ping? please get MOD Iceman or Zzxq to assist you with this. Because at the moment it sounds like you don't have to have a single UK player in your team to play. I've already explained how EU can't sign up by themselves and the UK Scene needs to grow (which is why you're doing this in the first place)
  • In my opinion all rosters should only contain NA/UK players. Europeans have their own version and we've been allowing them to participate in multiple tournaments on their version and ours. So this time please add a restriction.

I understand being in the situation where you're completely blocked, which is why I'm in favour of 2/5 being allowed compared to how 0/5 UK are allowed on EU. Definitely gotta have majorities (and we have to start with something otherwise we'll have no teams) When I ran BGL I thought the best way of introducing it would be 2 UK per team to begin with and then eventually increase that to 3, to allow more teams.
