[READ THIS] If you GM's REALLY want to revive this game then...

Lemme start this off with sorry if I come off as rude but it needs to be said this way apparently... I'm not your enemy btw

If GM's REALLY want to fix this game then you really need to hold like a mumble conference with the few people that could help you (Me, Erick, Zzxq, Brando, and Famous) and we will LITERALLY give you step by step, DIY, instructions on how2revive
And before I start, don't be all prideful and disgusting and be like "oh we don't need your help" "we got this under control" "blah when we need your help we will ask"

No. You guys need help, now.

Also side note: I can't speak for everyone, but ik for myself I'm not trying to get 10000000000 ZP or money or whatever you think I want in return for helping. So please get this out of you head, I want nothing but a better game.

Some GM recently said something like "we look at all suggestions"

First of all... Do you really even bother to look at them? Because even if you do that's not enough lol. I mean be TRULY honest to me and yourself, do you even consider anything from the players? Just because people don't work for Z8games, doesn't mean people don't have good insight on how to fix things

I talked to a GM for an hour or two but lemme restate this to everyone (All you GM's) hopefully to get it in your head

OK!

1. You mentioned "CrossFire 2016 Season"
It's been 2016 for almost 6 months, yet the only thing that's been mentioned is the announcement of the tournament itself. IF YOU NEED HELP, HELLO PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO HELP?? Again, don't be so horribly and unnecessarily prideful...

2. A problem with your tournaments is quite obvious. Know the Escape mode tournament? It was cancelled because people didn't sign up (not because of prizes, you guys are getting better at that part) but instead because of advertisement. I was told that you guys (the GM's) initially didn't know about the forums. HELLO HOW CAN YOU EXPECT CASUAL PLAYERS TO KNOW ABOUT IT? You guys have the ability to announce things ingame. Ex: 500% EXP and GP + in all modes. Why can't you use this as a form of advertisement for any tournament?
I don't see this as a struggle for you guys.

*** Side note along with advertisement***
Obviously now that I have a sponsor ill go ahead and be biased to push this option more but... How are people going to be interested in competitive if you guys don't announce things like the stuff said above or have spray paints, namecards, or items that represent teams or even a player in the team!

Yes you guys got Carbon, nice. One team? Add spray paints or items for like 2-3 more teams and make things more interesting!

This links into the next issue but before I say it...
It's clear that you guys don't take inspiration from other games. From a business perspective, I can see why but really? It's like you guys are trying to do the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of EVERY SINGLE popular game. Again from a business perspective I know you guys will hate being compared to another game but ima do it anyway. Know how DOTA had a prize pot above one million? Wanna know one way how besides the games popularity? Here's how you can mimic it:

As I said up there, make items (doesn't have to be limited to spraypaints and namecards; perhaps add weapons or character attachments) that represent a competitive team or player and make it as a ZP purchase. I've LITERALLY gone around the game asking everyone would you buy "X for ZP, even if it was higher than 5K" that would represent a certain team and at the same time help fund "X" tournament. I have YET to see ANYONE say no. All the profit from these items will help fund tournaments. Don't say that's too complicated or whatever. It's not. I will volunteer to make the spray paints or something if I have to.

Another thing that will help bring attention to tournaments:
Since RTZ is soon, I will use this as an example.
First, RTZ will be streamed and casted AFAIK. Announce the channel it will be streamed on and that guys will be giving out GOOD CODES (NOT CODE, CODES, PLURAL. Will explain reasoning below) in the game of Crossfire using the announcement system. In addition, also make a forum thread just to get a solid view base.

Now from a casual gamer perspective this how it probably is initially without prizes: "Oh cool a tournam... nah I like pubbing more, tournaments are boring"

How it should be....

"Oh cool a tournam... nah I like pubb... wait... cool prizes? Why don't I go check this out!" > Player goes on stream > "Wow this is pretty interesting, I'm gonna stay to watch and maybe Ill even win a cool item!" > THE GOAL: "Hey that game was really exciting! I should try this out myself!"

You guys are getting better with not being stupidly stingy with giving out items but I'm still going to say this. Ain't nobody trying to get no stupid 7 day ANY character item or even some stupid 1 or 3 day weapon that over 90% of players have.

TL;DR
Read it, especially if you're a GM. Only a couple of my many steps to help revive the game.
And GM's, please for the love of whatever you love in life... Don't. Respond. With. "k" or "we dont need help" or "ok we read this" or "we will take this into consideration." Because I'm not asking you guys, I'm telling you, you need help.

Comments

  • 100% support this, it's getting too late and they're delaying it even more. Please get this together ASAP.
  • Also they don't give enough notice for these new tournaments that they do and when they finally post news it's half a**ed and vague.
  • Easy to say, IMPOSSIBLE to get it done smh :/
  • So I'm going to bump this and add to my whatever you wanna call it

Note 1 : I know recently you guys have added the 2016 Season thing and are now allowing teams to register, nice. I'm still going to keep it in my original post just because I still think you guys should get a competitive players view on how it should be run (doesn't have to be just me).

    Note 2 :

    RTZ was recently streamed.

At it's peak, I think there were 31 viewers?

You guys do a stream weekly and give out codes and EASILY get over 100 viewers. Not only that, but you repeatedly announce things such as what room you guys are in, what flag to wear on what side, the password to it, and even random stuff

Now what annoys me is that I know this thread wasn't considered, perhaps even read at all because:

    1) RTZ was NEVER announced at ANY time in game
    2) NO CODES were given out to Kyle aka [MOD]Zzxq to give out. NOT EVEN 1 DAY CHARACTER ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    3) RTZ was NEVER announced at alllllll at ANY time in game

What do I have to say for you guys to understand that this is a major way to get more attention towards the competitive scene.

Again I'm going to pre-answer the possible response that I will probably get:

GM: "Relax, stop ranting, Crossfire 2016 session is on it's way and that will help the scene"

WHY WOULD YOU WAIT?!?!? Judging by the amount of announcements you guys casually throw out during your stream (probably around 3 the first couple minutes, maybe 2 random ones midway, and another 3 or 4 just closing off the event) IT CANT BE THAT DIFFICULT TO SAY THE ONE TIME THE STREAM GOES LIVE
    something along the lines of:

"Watch "x" vs. "y" battle it out on "twitch,tv/Z" then mention that you could win prizes by just watching

Again, IS IT THAT DIFFICULT? YOU CAN'T TAKE 10 SECONDS OF YOUR LIFE TO DO THAT?
  • +1 was pubbin in uk4 and every big clan i talked to had no idea about any tournaments and would enter for a decent prize

I've seen a lot of pub clans interested in the competitive scene but don't know where to start. We need the server named to competitive so players know where to go. A bonus would be able to lock the rooms to certain rules in the server to prevent people from wearing armor in scrims and lying about it.
  • We all know z8 is stubborn as hell and will only pull their head out of their arse when its already to late. Just look at the hacking situation a few years back (even tho its a whole differend subject but still).
Someone should link that video purvis made again.
  • +1 if you can get more viewers on RTZ stream by announcing there will be prizes given out ( e.g. bp codes ) then it may attract pub players and once they see the competitive side of CF they may become more engaged and begin to watch streams frequently, this can also lead to them following the brackets of tournaments and allow teams to get noticed and could potentially increase the competitive side of CF further.
  • For the one GM that actually is reading this but for some reason won't respond to the thread :

    7MqAxxR.png

That's the announcement thing I'm talking about

I'm sure it's a breeze to do. Please take advantage of your resources...
  • Odeeb sure knew how to use those like that one time during the MoTG tournament lmao xD

The only time I've ever seen them use that for competitive is during WCA finals, yet they posted it on like the last round of the last map :p
  • they made one of those in-game announcements for 2016 esports but i only saw it once and never again. needs to be more frequent.
  • The only time I've ever seen them use that for competitive is during WCA finals, yet they posted it on like the last round of the last map :p

I know because they, just like trying to revive the community overall, wait too long to do anything helpful towards the competitive scene

Are the GM's really this inactive on the competitive part of the forums? Must I put it in the barracks or something?

Inb4 response from GM "No calm down, we have heard enough from you and will ask for help as needed"
  • Oh toonie.. They make enough money they don't need to have a NA competitive side. They are happy with the 5-10 teams that enter the major events or have a chance at winning them. They wont waste their time when they can put out new weapons or 7 day ****. CF is a business why change the money maker? ;)
  • Because if you look at the Chinese version, or other games such as csgo, dota, what have you, their competitive scenes and prizepools are huge; which is definitely something that can intrigue people to play in the first place. Note that all of these games are more successful than the CF NA version. More people get involved in general like sponsors. They advertise the hell out of carbon because it's mutually beneficial to them, the team and the sponsor but imagine if there were dozens of teams like that.

Competitive scenes are a huge money maker

    It's not even that

It's the fact they literally made a thread RECOGNIZING that the competitive scene has "recently been slowing down" or something along those lines

IT TOOK THEM TWO YEARS TO FINALLY TURN ON THEIR MONITOR and be like hey, wow we freaking suck squidwards fat nose when it comes to competitive

It's the fact they recognize their problems yet have no idea how they are going to do things and continue to ignore THE EXACT STEPS THAT WOULD SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS

It's the fact that they "will look for help when they need it"

They have no idea what they're doing! How do I know? They haven't done anything yet (though they are slowly bringing one tournament to life)

"Closed for ranting even though you're trying to help us"
"We are waiting for the right time" BTW that was kinda YEARS AGO!!!

    They're not that evil :(

They respond when they get time. And they have plans but its either being worked on or waiting for something. All we can do is hope and wait :3

I've seen different GM's respond to different topics throughout all the different branches of the forum except for competitive

I'd rather not wait another couple of months just to find out it's a failure. They need to get advice from the players (BEFOREHAND) that actually HAVE COMPETITIVE EXPERIENCE and know what players are looking for (and I say this because 1) I see that pretty much all the GM's are newer and 2) I and many other people who are willing to help have individually played the game longer than every GM combined).
  • if u want to revive the game, come up with some new content

"once upon a time, there was a vegetable that got smashed. the end"

    smh. that simply won't slide
  • We will check some of the ideas you mentioned. However judging from your tone, I don't think we will be requiring your help.
  • You may have some decent ideas here that we should consider. A few of these things, I agree with. That being said, a lot of the ways you put it were uncalled for. I understand your frustration, but for someone who is claiming they know how to revive a game, you went about it in a rather unprofessional tone. You even knew it was going to come off that way.

Nobody thought that, but its a bit strange that you bring it up. Anyway, moving on.

We've also started team registration, and multiple teams have registered. And things are going to pick up as far as whats being advertised. We already have announcements in game about that, whether you have seen them or not. The Escape Mode tournament was more of people not being interested in the mode, IMO, but you're right. We could use the rolling messages to advertise, and we should. I agree on that point.

Well, I didn't respond with any of those. But we did read it, we do take things like this into consideration, and we are aware of your suggestions.

All of that being said, this isn't so much of a 'We dont need your help' as it is a 'We already use your help more than any of you realize'. Thanks for these, we will discuss amongst ourselves. (Mainly because we don't take that tone with each other. Okay, maybe Grumpy does sometimes ;) )
