  • More like a tournament that is ran by the community, and has a lot of community input that has the will to change and a good anti-cheat :).

Wow, a tournament that doesn't allow you to use what you want? That's new and original!

I'm sorry but I don't think many people in Echo 8 want a tournament that allows ZP guns and/or skinned guns. Our target is for e8 players and general rules used throughout every tournament so thank you for that this is a practice tournament for international tournaments that use similar rule-sets.
  • Took awhile, but we found a great anticheat :D

    Split NA/UK

for NA Sunday 4 est start ?

Agreeing with that time, the tournament looks really good LFT for this tournament
  • Well done C4, this looks great! Please let me know if you need anything!

    1.

I think everyone would prefer 2 separate regions as we have 2 servers that are on 2 different continents :) There's too many ping and timezone issues otherwise.

    2.

I guess it depends on what type of tournament it is, if the format is the same at EGL then I'd say around 5pm UK time on a Saturday/Sunday.

Micheal runs his NA cup on a Saturday so Sun makes sense for NA, and he hosts UK on Sun so Sat makes sense for UK. If the NA side is on a Sunday, it's likely that the UK side would be on a Saturday; which would be perfect. That way NA would have EGL on Sat and WCGS on Sun, and the UK would have WCGS on a Sat and EGL on a Sun.

I'm looking forward to see what the GMS have in store for us though, this isn't part of that is it? I really hope they have their own ideas for an Anticheat and prizepool.

    Keep up the good work.

We're looking for as many as streamers/casters we can get as long as they meet the standards of our league requirements. If you are available for the day/or days of the tournament which is yet to be decided you're welcome to the team as you meet our requirements! :).

@ British this isn't apart of Z8games idea this is a community hosted tournament from C4 and I. We've waited way too long for the EGL prizes with no clear statements giving us an exact idea when it will return so until then we've decided to hop in and provide a tournament. More tournaments better for the community!

They said they need streamers on their Facebook

    https://www.facebook.com/WrecklessGamingSeries/

Not sure if they also meant casters as that's a common mistake

    Edit: Nevermind look up ^

To be honest I really don't see why players can't pay a small entry free for these things. People like you two are doing a great job but it shouldn't come down to you opening your wallets to that extent, not sure how you and everyone else feels about this though. The fee, in my opinion, should only be for the more experienced teams (the teams that stand a chance of winning and actually being awarded the prize, as it's unfair for the less experienced teams) For example, your prizepool is $100 per month, and would be $50 per region if there's a split (If i'm not mistaken) so...
That would mean that 4 of the most experienced teams (per cup/region - so for the NA and UK cups) would have to pay an entry of $2.50 each to enter, 5 players per team and 20 players in total, that adds up to $50. Don't get me wrong it's great that you guys are chipping in and I think you should do so but maybe it would be more fair and better in general if the teams are paying AT LEAST 50% of the prizepool (This makes us a community more than anything) Maybe $50 each (1/2 funded by hosters and 1/2 funded by community), that way each cup could have a $100 prize pool rather than 50. Only 1/3 of the teams would have to contribute if they chose to (assuming we have 12 teams per cup) Obviously we shouldn't be in this situation in the first place and if we had proper events hosted by Z8 with a good anti-cheat and prizepool I wouldn't be suggesting this. The players that have stuck around, or actually care enough to play should consider this. There are much smaller ways to go about this as well, with ALL teams paying an entry of 0.50 cent per player, so if we had 10 teams in one of the cups, that would be an extra $25 added to the prizepool; or $1 each and +$50 to the prizepool. (Another bonus is that we could have a 2nd place prize as well) However, I think my first suggestion is better as it's less likely that EVERY team would be willing or even able to pay. . Perhaps a strawpoll on this at some point would be a good idea? Please let me know how you all think about this.

C4 was thinking a possibility of this in the future after seeing how things go with the first few tournaments. That's a good suggestion British and I'm glad that you're taking your time to provide us with great input.

credits for obtaining blackbox goes to makeveli
  • The only thing I don't like is the possible introduction of other maps besides the regular WCA/CFS maps. I think the map pool should only consist of:
    1.Black Widow
    2.Mexico
    3.Ankara
    4.Sub base
    5.Port
  • sounds great... :D

i would prefer if itssplit up into NA and UK 2*50$

    maps:
    1.Black Widow
    2.Mexico
    3.Ankara
    4.The Mine
    5.Port
    6.Sub Base

thanks for this great tournament and a new anticheat ;)
  • If we had the $100 prizepool for each cup (if the community likes my idea) then our prizepool could look like this:

    1st place: $50

    2nd place: $30

3rd place: $20 (3rd place match, even more competitive)
  • Please add armor and the 2.0 maps to this tournament. I'm almost certain for CF stars the 2.0 maps will be used.
