I do not know why you can't start the game. Thousands of people CAN start the game.
Maybe you're doing it wrong. Maybe you've installed an old version, or forgot to disable UAC or antivirus in your new computer.

I don't know why nobody replied to your last thread, which you very well could have bumped instead of getting a reply here where nobody will understand this post except you.

i have never had issue with loading the game. like i said previously in another post when i had to replace my hd i re-installed the game. now when i try to play the gui pops up but the start button turns brown when my cursor moves over it, if i click it just goes away and nothing else. i have tried re-installing , turning off firewall, turning off virus, still nothing.
does that give a better description?

This was a separate harddrive, which you only had games on, or did you also reinstall everything else?


New HDD and suddenly CF doesn't work seems like cause and effect. Clearly something happened between old hdd and new one, we just have to figure out what.

its a new hd and it was every day use laptop which had other games installed , installed w7 on it like other had, have put everything else that previous hd had on it and have no issues with any of it. i have found an older version of cf from cnet, going to see if it updates on its own and goes from there, negative still doing same. green start then mouse over turns brown click goes bye bye

for me it's sound like some register error - have You use some regcleaner after uninstall the game?
have You remove the game files from My Documents ?

will try that and yes i use cc cleaner.

yea just made sure everything was removed including file,,, re-installed it,,, same thing brown start button then poof goes away
