X-trap Error, Please Help!!!!
Hello, i'm having trouble running crossfire due to some error with x-trap, detailing :
"Some functions of the operating system have been corrupted. Please close any program which is affecting game client and restart the system."
Code Field:08-0400-00000000-510
Tool Name: ServiceModelPerformanceCounter.dll
My build is:
Compaq Presario CQ50
AMD Athlon Dual-core QL-60 1.90Ghz
Nvdia GeForce 8200
2 Gb ram
This is a sort of new computer, different from the one i regularly used to play crossfire. I switched to this new PC because i can't even run the game anymore on my old one and i haven't played regularly since 2012. I'd really like to get back into the game, but until i get this problem resolved, i wont be able to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time.

Some versions of some programs running in the background may cause X-Trap to complain and shut down Audition. Close unnecessary background programs such as FRAPS, Game Cam, etc., and run Audition again.
Using a different version of the software may fix the issue. For example, FRAPS v2.6.4 or 2.7.2 may not cause this error.
Other software that X-Trap commonly blocks include Xfire, ATI Tray Tools, Game Cam, and GameGuard.
Add crossfire to your anti-virus & firewall, close so much background programs as you can, if it din't work feel free to reply back:) -
Thanks for the advice, i did disable a couple of programs for a while (none of them game recorders tho, nobody would want to see me play since i suck) and re-installed a program that my internet security needed that i mistook for bloatware.
When i ran Crossfire, i was able to join servers and view my inventory and item store with some lag. However i'm having a problem with joining games. when i try to play a match, it takes me to a blank screen and i never actually get into the match so i run task manager to close the program. I used to go to the shooting range to make it easier to play matches but that trick isn't working anymore.
Do you or does anyone else know how to fix this problem?
p.s. Happy birthday, its all downhill after you turn 18!
