Macros delete themselves and chat being strange.
Motherboard: Asus MAximus V Formula
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K
RAM : 16GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8)
Video Card : EVGA GTX 780Ti
SSD: Samsung 840 series 240 GB
Monitor Type : Asus VG278he
Network Card : Intal Gigabit Ethernet built into mobo
Operating System : Windows 8.1
In-game Resolution :
Server : Alpha (All channels), Clan Server(All channels)
Maps occurring on: So far, any map. I play mostly GM though so Lab is definitely one that this happens on.
Symptoms :
A few little things that have been happening since the last major patch
1.) Seemingly randomly, my macros will delete themselves completely. Before, CF would have trouble saving new macros, but now all macros disappear when I login. So far, I haven't found any conditions for this to happen other than logging off then logging back in. Also, it should be noted that once, out of nowehere, the macros reappeared. Not sure if that points to some communication issue with the servers or what.
2.) The chat system can be very strange at times. Nothing that breaks the game, but sometimes it can cause minor problems.
a.)Sometimes at the start of a round, the chat will be opened ready to type even though I haven't pressed anything to open it. When joining a little after a round has started, this can be a problem since it delays my progress. If an enemy has reached my base, I am temporarily vulnerable. In addition to the chat, the Help menu always starts opened now. Which is another delay. While it may not seem like hitting enter and F1 is a big deal, it can be if there is a ghost breathing down your neck right when you spawn or a GR player at ghost spawn. I think an option to turn off the help menu from opening would be ideal.
b.)Sometimes now, between rounds of a match, I can't type to other players. Once it says Mission Failed or Success, pressing enter or macro F keys does nothing. However, I notice that other players can still type during that time. So it seems that this is not a widespread problem. Maybe something associated with Windows 8.1.
3.) About 40% of the time I close Crossfire, the client does not close correctly and locks up. I can close it easily with Task Manager. I think this is probably also a Windows 8.1 issue.
EDIT: 4.) I forgot to add. Since the last patch, the channels have been acting weird as well. The room ordering does not carry over from channel to channel. I usually sort my mode, but now the rooms are just in any order, and I have to change the sorting option for each channel individually. Kinda annoying, but again, not a big problem.
Considering these aren't major issues, I don't expect anything to be done soon, but I jsut wanted to give you guys a heads up that I (and probably others) are having these problems.
I'm going to keep looking through the forums for solutions, but at this point, I didn't notice anything.
Thanks
