SFG Character unuseable

I won the SFG from Slaughter Tickets last Friday but have been unable to use him as a character. Every time I select him it defaults back to the previous character I was using the second I close the Storage window. Usual Character is SIA, but it switches back to SPOP and SWAT as well if I select them first then select SFG. Tried it no items equipped or weapons and still switches back.
