XTRAP error 08-0400.....-523

so ive been playing this game for a few years with on and off breaks with no problem, and i recently just re downloaded the game a few nights ago and im getting this error..

08-0400-00000000-523

it says the tool running that was causing it was wxcode_msw28u_wxjson_CW.dll

i guess its not letting me post a screenshot of the error.. srry >.< any help would be appreciated.

It would be very helpful to get that screenshot of the error screen.

Before I go into the quick tutorial on how to post images here... one question. Have you done a search within your computer on where that specific file is? For me after a google search seems to point to WoW. Is that accurate?

To post images:

1)Press Prt Scr (or equivalent on computer). You may need to use a combination of keys to capture your screen, such as Fn and then Prt Scr.
Paste it onto paint

2)If it isn't like this already, move the bottom right corner as far upper left as you can, just so that when you paste it takes up as much background as it needs and not leave any spilling out.
It's okay if you capture the whole desktop.

3)Then save the paint file, usually .png, perhaps to the desktop
Go to a file upload or image uploading service like imgur.com

After uploading it there, try to copy onto your clipboard the url that has the IMG BBcoding.
Here is where you can grab it after just uploading on imgur:


It would be good to do a secondary screen capture with just the xtrap error message box.
A closeup, per say.

Okay nvm.

I fixed it, by exiting windows thermal monitor and zotac firestorm.

edit: Actually, that may not be the cause, re-started both programs and Cf still runs.

Since the censor won't let me post the URL because of "****", here is a site:

The error looks like this, but where is says Tool name, it says systemhook.dll.

Edit 2: What I realised I may have done is, I reset the exclusions on my antivirus, since I was playing before, paused and reinstalled why having the same exclusion.

Edit 3: I have isolated the problem to a program called PMW. (Process manager for windows)
Pretty sure it's legit and have used with CF in the pass, so don't know why it is interfering now.

Use Imgur to upload the image... I don't know where the censored URL would then come from lol. What did you try to use? T.inypic? That's a censored site now cause of idiots on the LS board. -.-

But a question, before you said the tool name was "wxcode_msw28u_wxjson_CW.dll"... now it's "systemhook.dll"?

i never resolved the issue, this is my thread, not brirons haha. anyways i got a screenshot of the error here it is

alright so i found "wxcode_msw28u_wxjson_CW.dll" in my system32 files

not quite sure what to do now.. please help

I'm having trouble with X-TRAP .dll files too, but different to what you have. I've recently installed crossfire and it hasn't worked.
