  • A computer part isn't an infinite source of constant currents.
They oxidize, capacitors are very sensitive, soldered and brazed connectors aren't perfect etc.

Someone here can probably help you deduce which part is failing.
Then you can hope it's not the mobo and buy a replacement.

Might just be your computer dude, couple years can be a really long time if you haven't maintained your setup on a regular basis. I made that mistake when I got my first rig, didn't clean it, NADA. Got worse over the years.

    But if not.

Razer Game Booster works wonders. Configure it to CrossFire, do some advance settings and it'll boost your FPS. May range from a little boost to a lot, all depends to be honest.

  • Might not even be your computer, unless the change was very sudden.

CrossFire has been changed a bit over the years and each patch your FPS will change (sometimes for the better, almost always for the worse depends on what content is added) I originally used to get ~270ish FPS, I now only get about 230 or 250 at the very most with my GTX 780.

I'd recommend using a more reliable benchmark for testing your hardware, such as the Unigine ones. (Heaven, Valley, etc.) or even try your performance in another game besides CrossFire. Once you have data from the benchmarks/other games you can compare them to other peoples scores online with the same hardware to determine if it's your computer or CrossFire itself.

    If you are 100% certain that it is NOT CrossFire, run through these steps;

    1) Open task manager, check all open processes and check CPU usage.
    - If a process is eating up your CPU usage, either find out what it is from and close it.
    - If a process is eating up your RAM (less than ~35% available) then do the same as above.

    2) Defragment your hard drive (although this may not help with FPS, it does help with loading times, loading textures, etc.)

    3) Tweak graphics settings
    - Depending on what graphics card you have, there may be a different control panel for each. The NVIDIA control panel offers options such as this. (You'd obviously want to drag to performance)

    4) Tweak ingame settings
    - Use a lower resolution, textures, etc. (I'm sure you already tried this, but it's worth noting anyway.)

    5) Check your computer temperatures
    - Your graphics card or CPU may be running excessively hot during playing causing bad performance or underclocking/undervolting to compensate for overheating. You can check your temperatures using SpeedFan. (Don't mess with the "Clock" tab, only use it to get temperatures. If you do mess with it, you could break your computer.)

Hopefully that can give you an idea of what's going on.

Here's the links to the software I mentioned above (already linked, but will add some additional stuff here.)

    Unigine Heaven
    Unigine Valley
    SpeedFan
    CCleaner
Razer GameBooster (credit to Chase for mentioning this, it's decent software IMO.)
  • forgot to add update your drivers, you have to play around with them though to see which ones work best, i know the newest intel hd graphics driver didn't work for me too well, 100 fps, but i used an older version and fps went to 200 fps, so just depends.

i tried 1,2,3, and 4. i havnt updated drivers. ran cc cleaner, when i go to task manager, itll say like 50% cpu, then just go down after 5 seconds to like 2 or 5 cpu
  • Downgrade to older drivers from when your game ran smoothly?

    absurd!

ONLY THE NEWEST DRIVERS ARE THE BEST!

    oh wait

If I can recall he doesn't even know how to update drivers.
  • Changing my font from CF's garbage font to Arial in the game increased my FPS by quite a large amount. Copy the Arial font from your Windows folder and move it to rez > fonts and rename it to default. Obviously your issue is likely something much bigger than this but it's worth trying I guess.

will anti cheats see this as a game mod and pzbusted im on the ban list?

No, changing your font is as safe as changing your kill marks/sounds.
  • I can check it out or Syphon Can.
Honestly...buying a Dell for gaming isn't going to last you long. PCs like that especially on the consumer level are not really created for longevity.

really depends, i have 2-3 dells running since 2003, 24/7, never have been shut off since then just running to collect surveillance videos lol

I regret to inform you that there is no fixing. You have a Dell.
  • really depends, i have 2-3 dells running since 2003, 24/7, never have been shut off since then just running to collect surveillance videos lol

    That's a different situation.

For instance, PCs created for office work environments will outlast a gaming PC any day...why...they mostly sit there...on all day...the processor doesn't get any strain and there are no graphics cards, PCs like that mainly use on board graphics because they aren't created for gaming. The heat output remains rather stable, they can be kicked without crying.

You can't just buy a PC and expect it's performance to remain stable without proper maintenance. Unless it's a DIY most of the gaming PCs are catered to you having to call the company so they can charge you for something.
  • game runs smooth made my fps drop a bit but feels smooth like 200fps

so ya, you win buddy, congrats *handshake*
