Depends on the day, mood and what influence my mind is under to determine what suits my needs for that current moment.
As for right now.

If you know how to read sheet music, looking at the official sheets for them will probably give you a migraine at one point or another. I don't see how playing only one genre makes any difference considering it is still the most complex out there. Making it big or not is completely irrelevant too.
I have a major on jazz performance and death metal is nothing compared to what jazz players come up with. I like death metal and all, but a lot of bands don't know how to REALLY compose a good song. Of course, death metal has its set "rules" when composing, but the lack of originality on some bands is just incredible. This is all under the assumption that you're talking about death metal and not its sub-genres.MattManFPS wrote: »Death were more of the death metal pioneers than Kreator. They might have molded death metal for all future bands, but sadly most of the future bands don't even use them as influence. If they did, I would enjoy Death metal a LOT more. -

The way they compose the songs, the chord progressions, the melodies. It's all too ****ing elaborate and incredible. The way they use the chords and the chords they use are the things that just make me rage quit jazz sometimes.
Honestly, aside from classical being the mother of music. Jazz has been the fundamental genre for every popular music out there, including rock. Rock actually originated from jazz, aside from the fact that rock is more standard and "by the book" like classical music is. -
