may anyone help me with this problem

every time i shut down my computer and reboot it, a continuous burp occurs and my monitor

doesn't display anything. The computer is on but it is not on (the monitor, keyboard, mouse

aren't working and it doesn't get to my log in window screen)

I have already took out both RAM and put it back and blew the dust off. i have also wiped the dust and blew it from my fan, still the same problem.

I used to wait for a few minutes, then turn it on and itll work. but now, it hasn't worked since yesterday evening.

help please, i just installed crossfire. (i am on my laptop)

  • Did you try washing your PC with water? Nah i'm just kidding.

You say the monitor does not turn display anything? Mabey you configured it to a resolution the display cannot handel so the monitor turns off? This happend once on my PC and the monitor just kept going to sleep after 20 seconds of booting.. Put it back into factory settings!

I dont know why your keyboard or mouse wouldn't be working, are you sure they are not working or just assume that because you cant see it on the display? try hitting capslock randomly after the pc boots. You never know it might just be hardware failure. :(
  • no its not the monitor or the keyboard that doesnt work. thats not what i meant, sorry. they

are both working. its the desktop. it doesn't boot so the monitor light goes blue then back to

yellow, like it hasn't been taken out of sleep mode.

It does not get to the actual desktop itself on the pc, like the pc shuts down before it gets to "welcome?"

Try going back to a restore point its possible you could be infected with a rootkit. If you are on windows 7 just reinstall the OS. You can do this by hitting eaither [f5,f6,f7,f8,f9,f10,f11,f12, DEL, ESC] at the time the pc starts up (i dont know what the exact button is it's different for each pc) go into "repair computer" and chose what options you want to pick.
  • I don't know much about computers, but my best advice I can give you is calling a computer store that is specialist in it.

I wish you good luck fixing it and hopeful you can enjoy playing CrossFire
  • What happened to me:
Turn on computer, see the computer manufacture logo (HP) when the comp starts, then after it goes all black and my monitor light goes from blue to yellow.

I don't know if it's the same for you, but I had to format my computer to get it working again.
  • i don't understand the problem.

since this happens when you reboot the pc after using it, what are you doing to get to the "using it" stage from the start?
  • just go to someone in ur real life who knows much or works in the computers stuff .. and get a help.

the boot doesn't even pass the DELL loading... it doesn't do anything but stay a black screen

the DELL logo doesn't even show for me. but it stays black. and yes, the light goes from blue to yellow. there is nothing wrong with the monitor, its the PC.

HEY BUT Now the beeping sound isnt occuring but the monitor still isnt displaying anything. its not the monitor though.

i meant the first time i rebooted me computer. now, it cannot start up again. its october 22, and it hasnt worked since october 20. i took it to a computer repair shop.
  • If it beeps as soon as its turned on it means the RAM is not in the sockets correctly. When you were cleaning the PC up did you by any chance touch something metal before touching the inside of the pc?

*Might be incorrect but this is what i have seen from my previous PC failures.
  • gluuuuuuuu,

To even make a comment, MINIMUM anyone require some info:

    Brand: DELL
    Model
    Processor
    Memory
Hard drives models, type & capacity
    Monitor brand & model
OS and Service Pack installed (if applies)
If it is "self assembled" or moded, Motherboard Brand & Model

Just for EVEN to make a comment......

If the DELL logo appears, that means that the DOS boot is been executed. The trouble comes when the WINDOWS gonna boot. Just speculations.

    Greetings,
  • thanks everyone for the help.

however, I've just received a new computer, and it works great now.
  • I think he means it doesnt POST, but that seems to be irrelevant now.
  • since this is the internet, i will invent percentages willy-nilly; 90% of all blackscreens on a computer that has not been fiddled with are crc errors, so a format and potentially new hdd will suffice.
    10% are picnic.
