Trojan in forums! FYI

Or something of that nature...

All last week and this week while in forums I get a pop up saying I have malware etc etc and starts scanning ( or pretends to ) my pc at work...

I always try to x out about 3 times not pressing the buttons [cancel] or [ok].
I seem to shut it down succesfully but there is an exe program trying to get into my pc only fromthis site......

O_o That's weird.. I don't believe the site has any trojans... We all woulda gotten that pop-up too.. and exe program trying to get into your pc from the site? >_>

The site does not contain any trojans. It's very possible that the popup you are seeing is the malware itself. A common tactic with rootkits such as Antivirus 2009 is to show you a warning that you have malware. Once you click on the scan you effectively give it permission to install itself into the Windows kernel. I would recommend running a scan with a program called Malwarebytes Antimalware. It does a good job of removing programs such as that.

wow i got that too, it just goes to this site and tells u to download this spyware zapper thingy

it shows a screen that looks ur control panel but its actually a website

i wouldnt take any chances

Here are some screen shots of the malware!
I think it may have been inserted to my pc while clicking one of the links in forums.
It took me to some russian girl on a bed looking for a date or something. I remeber seeing the guy banned after that!

Antivirus live is a rogue antimalware , its disguised as spyware.
Try running spybot search & destroy and then malwarebytes antimalware.
I noticed a increase in these cases with the surveys-I think the surveys have many harmful viruses.

A little better than that though is....
I work for a government agency,,, it hosed my hard drive, the popups blocked every option, you couyldnt delete, stop the process or initialize spybot etc.
They removed my hard drive and bla bla bla.

however it popped up a ****o message which didnt go over to easily with the superiors.

remeber, I believe this happened after clicking a link from a forum that misleadingly lead to that girl sitting on the bed web cam thingy.... the guy was banned after that

Well this link haved a virus.
Smart.
It was something with "erica'lover" I know
