stretch your budget a little. you could remove the optical drive and install your os from a usb. or buy an optical drive later. also don't buy an os. with the sales tax your gonna pay at bestbuy itl come out the same price. -

Not everyone in this world is rich to buy Intel processors and Gtx690x 4 on their Pc. Not to mention all those cool stuffs like better case or 4x 1tb of SSD disk, 32gb of ram, watercooling and etc.
Those who would love to have good pc with low budget, they will take AMD cpu. Those with i don't really care about the price and i want best will take those hardcore equipments. Besides speaking of overpriced comparing my amd fx 6100 (6-core) with intel i7 (6-core) i found that it's cheaper to buy the amd processor(provided information by amazon.uk). Also Amd gpu are cheaper then a nvidia gtx 690.
Best of all you can get a cheap hardcore gaming pc with Amd then buying a i7 with the nvidia gtx 690. -

But it's a laptop. AMD's APUs aren't vary bad. AMD's APUs/CPUs are a bit slower than Intels is because each core isn't sectioned off like Intel. APU's can't really be dealt with but it's good. The laptop he/she provided is a decent system. Like I said, not that great, not that bad either. Good for school, good for somewhat of moderate gaming, to an extent. It'll run CrossFire, not high off 200FPS. More of around 75~100, which is still good. A 7750 APU is still good. I ran a 7660D APU which was pretty good as well. I'm just stating that he/she can still probably get a better system for that price. In-terms of laptops, not many will be available. In-terms of desktop, well that's a totally different situation. -

Well mobile APU's aren't very high to begin with. Laptops don't use high-end APUs because it generates too much heat and the heatsink would burn out quickly. Not all APUs are slow on daily usage. I had my APU for about 5 months doing pretty fast and well with multiple games and processing until I got my dedi card. -

Laptops don't use APUs because they aren't high end by any means, and they use more power than anything Intel has to offer.

Wait...what?
An APU is a CPU + GPU Combined. Problem is that if the GPU dies, you need a new APU/CPU. The Graphics Unit is ran off the CPU. Now, laptops come with an APU. The GPU is considered an integrated GPU. Not dedicated, not fan, based off APU capability. Then there are mobile chipsets. It's a section on the motherboard where another GPU is located. Like an i7 on a laptop. It's an APU, but can also hold a mobile chipset on the board. Like a 765m. The M or any letter after the number represents a mobile chipset. -

A chipset is like 990FX, Z87, H67M, A75. All a chipset does is provide SATA ports, a little PCIe, and USB. Nothing else. A 765M is a NVIDIA mobile discrete GPU.
